Nick Holmes joins Bloodbath

2014-09-16 by MO | 17 Comments
In a surprise announcement, Swedish death-metallers Bloodbath have named Nick Holmes as their new vocalist. Holmes is best known for his work with Paradise Lost, the classic death/doom metal outfit out of England.

Adding that they didn't want to go in the direction of a Fathomless Mastery - Part II, Jonas Renske has gone on to say that the band's next release, Grand Morbid Funeral would be leaning more towards the direction of "raw, organic, sludgy death metal".

Grand Morbid Funeral is set to be released on November 17th 2014.

In the recent Paradise Lost compilation, Holmes sung legacy Paradise Lost material with guttural vocals, plus he did the same during the recent concerts of the band in Greece.

Looks like the guy has re-developed an appetite for extreme metal.

Should be pretty decent, probably going to be more legitimately swede deathy. Or just another Vallenfyre album, which is fair enough tbh

Nick's growls were great on Gothic, interesting to hear how this turns out.

He dropped the harsh vocals back in the 90s becuase of the damage they were doing. Guess he's trained himself to do it relatively harmlessly.
