Nag, I understand your point but after all, it's Pink Floyd we're talking about. I'm confident that they're still more than capable of producing something great. Of course, no one should be expecting a new Dark Side Of The Moon, but that doesn't mean that Floyd won't be able to make good music anymore.

It'll just sound like a Gilmour solo record if Waters is not on it. They did all play together a few years back, so maybe they made up
after all this time? Or maybe he'll come back in respect of Wright? Either way, if Waters is on it.. the record will be huge.

The Divison Bell is ok, though I can;t say for sure, as it's not an album I've heard enough times.

New Pink Floyd? I don't know. I guess it could work. Such sudden news though, huh? I think it's not going to be bad. I'd say it's going to be familiar, cozy. I do hope, though, for excellence, but let's be realistic.

I ;also hope Roger Waters is on the album too. The reason I do not dig any Pink Floyd Album after The Wall, is either because it's not worth it (The Final Cut), or because it's too Gilmour-y (The Division Bell, A Momentary Lapse of Reason)

Album won't be anything special without Waters, the two previous Floyd albums have proved that without his input their song writing is pretty average.

It's saving grace could be if it's predominantly instrumental and less song-based, which I think I read it might be (not sure where I saw that, I could be wrong).

Pink Floyd is Roger Waters.

He was an integral part of the band but Gilmour was equally important to their sound, if not more so. It's just that they need Water's to handle a good chunk of the writing side of things, as highlighted by both post-Waters albums.

Dunno why people are hoping for a Waters appearance
I mean if he co-wrote it that would be fantastic but its been announced that this was all written in 1994 which basically confirms he had no input in writing it
So therefore if he did appear on this it wouldn't be as a songwriter it'd just be him playing bass and singing
Neither of which he excels at to be perfectly frank

When Pink Floyd toured the Division Bell they played Dark Side of the Moon (complete album, start to finish) every night. Next year is the 40th anniversary for the release of Wish You Were Here. Be nice if they toured the new album and the show included the complete WYWH . . . It could happen.
