"Convalescence" is what got me into DH ten years ago. This band has created some of my favorite heaviest melodies. I enjoyed the song enough I'm going to buy the album. I haven't bought a Darkest Hour album since The Eternal Return

A little different from their usual. Feels like this might grow on me. I guess well see. I liked most of what they've released.

Song isn't what I would expect. I've listened to it a lot throughout the day and it has grown on me, but this isn't the sound I want from this band. That being said, Mike said something along the lines of this song is supposed to show that they aren't a one trick pony and that the rest of the album should be more familiar.

I'm still excited, and even if this is the direction of the album I'm sure I'll find a lot to enjoy.

I'm not feeling this track aside from the vocals. I hope the other tracks are way better

I hate this song... This is not the DH I loved that's for damn sure. I would rather listen to almost any song off their past albums over this steaming pile. If the rest of the album is anywhere near this quality of shit, I give up on them. They will never top Hidden Hands, Undoing Ruin, or Deliver Us. I miss Kris Norris with these guys. His playing style really made these guys something special. They've only been a shell of what they once were since. Let's be real.

Very generic down-tuned song... The solos kinda make expect better stuff on this record...

Song was lame till 1.30. Still a tremendous letdown though.

I don't know anything else from this band, but I thought this song was pretty good. Some of you are saying it sucks for them. What are some good song recommendations I should check out since I am new to them?

idk, this was iffy. parts of it were good, parts were bad. still have high hopes though, The Eternal Return and their debut are the only disappointing ones.

and yes, i think The Human Romance is up there with some of their best work.

actually i take part of my first comment back, The Mark of the Judas is sloppy and unrefined and they obviously had a long ways to go in terms of songwriting, but thats part of what makes it a fun record.

Their only disappointing records IMO are So Sedated and Eternal Return

I like TER, obviously not as much as their other stuff but it was a little darker and angrier than the album before or after it, it's a fun listen.

It's got a couple of tasty jams but the albums before and after it are better. The angrier tracks on the others are angrier too, despite TER being their self proclaimed pissed off record. Tracks like Full Imperial Collapse and Violent by Nature crush everything on The Eternal Return

yeah The Human Romance has a really good mixture of thrashier shit and more melodic shit.
