In b4 outrageously mixed opinions..
| |
Fuck, I was planning on going to sleep. I guess that's not gonna happen for a little bit.
| |
you will fall asleep listening to this album
| |
This will be remembered as their opus magnus, by far the best they have ever done, everything they ever did comes together here. AOTY 2014!
| |
THE ROBOT VOCALS ARE BACK !!!!!
| |
2 songs in and the album sounds alt rock/pop as fuck. What happened to the jazz/metal? It's not necessarily a bad thing, just very surprising.
| |
nice
| |
the lion's roar is the best song on here imo
| |
this is a pretty shitty album holy
| |
Expecting outburst of reviews in 3...2...
| |
I have a feeling this would sound a lot better live.
For some reason its not hitting like it should here...maybe after a few listens.
| |
so far Gitanjali is the best song from this
| |
Yeah, Gitanjali is tight, but the way Masvidal pronounces "Gitanjali" is getting on my nerves.
| |
I predict at least 3 staff reviews for this by the end of the week
| |
I think the band is getting closer and closer to what were Gordian Knot back in the day, which is great of course.
| |
is really worth listening to
| |
Yes, its p good.
Infinite Shapes is my fave track, but Masdival pulled a fast one releasing the worst songs on here as singles.
| |
Was this jizz worth squirting out?
| |
vocals are really ugh
| |
They are less irritating than CBA dude, bass sounds sweet too.
| |
This is pretty good, for a Smashing Pumpkins album. As a Cynic album, I don't know yet.
| |
Hmm...made it all the way through now...not sure what I think about it.
Its not terrible, but it all seems like its being played way too slow. Sean Reinerts talents almost seem wasted.
| |
nah everything about CBA was better than this, especially the production
| |
Damn it my internet is too slow to stream this I want to hear it.
| |
I'll agree that the production here is flat but I like this about the same as CBA.
| |
So you like this now Pleb huh
| |
It grew on me ye
| |
wag
| |
not wag at all tbh
| |
good album agreed guys
| |
4.0
| |
no pause button on the stream thing ugghhhhh
| |
The whiney poppy boyish vocals killed it for me.
The instrumentation was not terrible, at some points it was pretty good, but not consistent enough.
This album was kind of a snore fest guys.
| |
I really really enjoyed the instrumentation personally but I can see the viewpoints of the vocals; I still personally quite like the vocals. Album is a solid 3.5
| |
Vocals are the least frustrating thing about the record.
| |
Vocals are fine
| |
theyre kinda gay
| |
so r u BOOM
| |
i no u r bt wt am i
| |
4.3
| |
Already knew this was gonna be more of the same. Underwhelming as fvck.
| |
Moon Heart Sun Head is the best song
| |
Shit, Voivod, I knew this sounded similar to something. Makes perfect sense.
| |
who will rush review it first??????? stay tuned
| |
is this worse than traced
| |
yea cept gordian knot didnt have the hilariously bad lyrics n annoyin vocals
| |
hmm
| |
wow great dig every1 listen to that instead
| |
I don't have any problem with the band going further away from metal, so if that's all that people don't like about it I'll enjoy this. However...I've heard so many bad things about this album that i'm still worried. I'll listen a bit later and see what I actually think
| |
I'm afraid to hear this. Wasn't really big on CBA and the songs i've heard from this sound like a step down from that.
| |
i dont have a problem with the direction they are taking their music in, but the lyrics are horrible and the vocals range from pitiful to good.
overall the album is pretty good though (except for True Hallucination Speak)
still weakest of their full lengths, and not as strong as Carbon
| |
Who ever listened to Cynic for the vocals? This is somewhere between 3 - 3.7 because of the awful production. Maybe when a real 320 rip drops it'll be better
| |
As someone who has never liked Cynic, I'm kinda okay with this one.
| |
Aeon Cynic. I dig it, but not totes in love with it.
| |
This album isn't as good as the last two, but its definitely better than CBA!
| |
it's a solid 3.5
the singles released made this seem like it was going to be worse
i'm actually quite relieved...
| |
disappointing...
| |
man wtf is paul talking about
| |
Masdival's singing on "Sumeria" is actually pretty damn fantastic.
I guess I will bite the bullet and listen to an entire Cynic record.
| |
Album is an ethereal journey. It hits many moods, and at times manages to sound like something from the future and from the past at the same time. Definitely unique, and therefore worthy of some sputnik attention imo.
| |
Idk guys, I am really trying my hardest to like this, I've given it countless listens, but I think if
you want a good soft rocking moody and atmospheric prog album, there are just so many better ones out
there. I would rather listen to Agalloch's 'The Mantle' or Opeth's 'Damnation' if I want a gently
treading prog rock album.
