New William Shatner LP

2014-01-22 by Mad. | 20 Comments
The 82-year old William Shatner has released his 4th LP, Ponder the Mystery.

The concept album is supported by a number of guest including former members of the band Yes — Tony Kaye, Billy Sherwood and Rick Wakeman. Nik Turner, formerly of Hawkwind, was also involved.

Shatner has described the concept as revolving around "a guy in despair who is living on a beach, and it takes him through the last hour of the day at sunset through twilight, into darkness and the sounds of the night in which he regains his fervor, his love of life based on the beauty of what he's seeing around him."

Shatner wrote all the lyrics for the piece then handed them off to Sherwood, who composed the music.

The tracklist is as follows:

1. "Red Shift"

2. "Where It's Gone... I Don't Know", with

Mick Jones

3. "Manhunt", with Simon House

4. "Ponder the Mystery", with Steve Vai

5. "So Am I", with Al Di Meola

6. "Change", with Rick Wakeman

7. "Sunset", with Joel Vandroogenbroeck

8. "Twilight", with Edgar Winter

9. "Rhythm of the Night", with Nik Turner

10. "Imagine Things", with Vince Gill

11. "Do You See?", with Edgar Froese

12. "Deep Down", with Robby Krieger

13. "I'm Alright, I Think", with Dave Koz

14. "Where Does Time Go?", with George Duke

15. "Alive", with Zoot Horn Rollo

Oh, whoops. Still, it seems to have gone unnoticed on Sputnik so where's the harm? It would be brilliant if someone reviewed it
