Gravity film score stream

English film music composer Steven Price is streaming his new film score Gravity at Wired.

Gravity is Alfonso Cuarón’s new film, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, and the plot revolves around the horror of human isolation and survival in space.

Price commented on the film score as follows:

Alfonso was always very determined that the soundtrack be immersive. As you sit in the theatre, the score literally moves around you and seeks to complement the weightless movement of the outer space visuals. We want you to feel within the experience. In order to achieve this, we recorded separately a wide range of elements, including glass harmonicas, voices, and string and brass sections of various sizes so as to allow a lot of freedom in both movement and also post-recording processing. Elements come and go, pulsate and transform, and follow the movements onscreen in a way that will hopefully add to the total cinematic experience of Gravity.

The film score has been officially released on September 17, while the movie will hit the theaters on October 4.

Absolutely buzzing for the film. Alfonso Cuaron is one of the greatest directors of this decade.

I just remembered that Cuarón had directed Y Tu Mamá También in 2001, which was an awesome "independent" film.

Will check Gravity for sure, when it arrives in Greece.

The trailer I saw in front of Prisoners was one of the most intense things I've seen all year. Psyched for this movie.

this movie has the potential to be great but also a lot of potential to be a huge disappointment depending on how they do the special effects (because this is obviously a special effects movie)

but i have a little faith in cauron so im tentatively excited

idk usually the mean score has to be somewhere in the mid 50th and 60th percentile for a film to actually be good. im scared this film is going to be all show and no substance, which is what those scores kind of point towards

i guess, enter the void is the crowning achievement of 21st century cinema at the moment. there will be entire books written about the both the technical and thematic elements of that film in about 10 years.
