Good song I guess.
| |
so hot
| |
not bad
| |
Meh
| |
meh is right. uncertain about this album.
| |
They can't write a song that doesn't say the word "Brother" or mention alcoholism at least once.
| |
Awesome. Album will rule.
| |
meh
| |
Wasn't bad.
| |
Great.
| |
"They can't write a song that doesn't say the word "Brother" or mention alcoholism at least once."
Or "bastard" and "coward". "Coward" is easily their favorite word of all time
| |
dammit i'm disappointed with this. a lot
| |
This is (presumably) Jay's favorite song off the album too, so that's promising...
| |
I mean, the music wasn't bad, from any other band, it's just that they've done this to death. The best points here were the vocals and the drumming. the guitars just didn't sound, that into it.
| |
The drumming is the only thing that has been consistently awesome every album
| |
the new drummer is really good, i have to say
| |
New drummer?! What happened to the old one?
| |
He left, not sure of the reasoning. The new drummer Joe is apparently hugely good. it's evident in the new songs so far.
| |
It looks like he left late 2011.
"Drummer Andy Reitz chose to leave the band to run his business, a van rental company that provides touring bands with vans powered by bio-diesel fuels"
| |
i dunno, i enjoyed the last one more. this just felt even more rehashed. vocals sounded really good though
| |
"Coward" is easily their favorite word of all time
LOL! It's too true!
| |
"They can't write a song that doesn't say the word "Brother" or mention alcoholism at least once."
"Or "bastard" and "coward". "Coward" is easily their favorite word of all time"
Well yeah both are true but then the same thing could be said for la dispute debut lp ( see the la dispute drinking game http://imgur.com/WLHnrVx).
| |
Why do so many artists write the same album over and over again?
| |
agreed band sucks
| |
someguest likes em so i gota hate em
| |
Strictly based on the lyrics sheet without the repetition on certain tracks, La Dispute says "Darling" and "lover" about 20 times.
Same thing for Defeater's latest album with "bastard" "brother" and "coward", they say it about 18 times
| |
100+
| |
good song
'then as soon as they experiment all the fans call foul' x2
goes for any hardcore band its a joke
| |
hurr hurr stereotypes
| |
Good drums and vox. It's better than most everything off the last album anyways
| |
More of the same. Wouldn't have it any other way.
| |
decent song, love the artwork for this album anyway.
| |
man these last two songs have sounded real uninspired. Like Defeater are just going through the motions. Either that or I've become tired of their sound. Sounds super rehashed and no riffs have really stuck out. Disappointing :/.
| |
song is sort of meh.. but..
i also think had i heard any one song off of 'travels' (which i still love) out of context before i had listened to any of their music i wouldn't have given the band a second listen. so listening to just one song by these guys is kind of pointless.
| |
don't get the hype for these dudes :/
| |
I dunno why but these first two songs make me really excited for their new album, I think they sound pretty solid.
| |
Don't get me wrong I'm not one of these Defeater haters, I do like them, but I got to agree this doesn't sound any different (in any great way) it's kind of done to death.
| |
song is trash
| |
if it ain't broke don't fix it
| |
Disappointed. It's been a steady decline since Travels. Still need to listen through the whole thing, though.
| |
fucking boring
| |
letters home wow how fucking trite has this band become
| |
someone write a letter to the band and tell them to stop being pussies and go back to travels style
| |
I'm honestly trying to understand the hate surrounding this band, but I really can't... Thought the song was pretty good.
| |
It's pretty simple. They were amazing and now they suck
| |
^ ^
| |
i will not be happy if this album really is the same story as the previous two, just done from the fathers perspective. i mean the lost ground ep had a different story and that worked.. why do they feel the need to repeat themselves!
| |
Dissapointed again... this album seems to be lacking compared to the previous 3.
| |
Not going to lie they do kind of seem to be doing and ABR and sticking to the same style very closely. Hopefully more songs on the record add things.
| |
Except ABR hasn't done that at all
| |
Not with the new record, the last one was a mess and constellations was just an updated messengers. The majority of their songs structures are the same and sound very similar.
| |
@Timmons
Lost Ground was the same story. The main character is the Prophet in Plain Clothes from Travels.
| |
It's a side story, really. It was nice too because we didn't have to hear the words coward, bastard and brother fifty million fucking times.
Judging from the fact that Rabbit Foot is the second to last track and doesn't have any lyrics that vaguely resemble the same shit story, I'm really hoping the last track is the only one to have any real overlapping of the story. Something tells me we're gonna hear the word "bottle" a thousand times though
| |
Still waiting for the story from the trains point of view
| |
I suspect that will be the album after the mother's point of view and the brother's wife
| |
I remember when sputnik collectively jizzed like crazy over this band. Not so popular now that they got huge, ey? Scene
kids jock Defeater like crazy.
| |
New album needs to leak already
| |
"Not so popular now that they got huge, ey?"
More like not so popular after they turned to shit
| |
