Spoilers: It rules.

Spoilers: it sucks.
| |
Spoilers: InFiction is right
| |
You kids make me laugh.
| |
YES!
| |
Hmm
It's a good song but that's it
not impressed at all
| |
Not so bad. I enjoyed it.
| |
Not a big fan of the new sound.
It's k.
| |
I actually like the song, I am a sucker for good melodies and that to me, is a damn good melody. it is weird to think it is the same band, but they are definitely evolving into a more pop-oriented sound.
| |
I really like it. Sorry, Karl.
| |
Wizard hits some home runs and other time takes pitches to da face.
Song was pretty good, but too short.
| |
Whoa this is great
| |
'tis different
| |
I thought March to the Sea was already a Pelican song name. Well the shit apples don't fall far from the shittrees. Borrring.
| |
Definitely liked it more than the other song they released. Still not completely on board with the new sound though.
| |
Song does rule but I have the feeling that the new album is going to be "metal lite" just like Mastodon's The Hunter
| |
I like, but I want more metal.
| |
If this is one on the singles off the album then i'm sure it's the more sing-a-long type song on the album. I'm sure the albums will still bring the heavy, or at least I hope it does.
| |
different but good :]
| |
I'm still very curious what "Green" will be like
| |
Not digging the production on these new tracks, but the song is actually pretty good. Better than take my bones away.
| |
Baronnes are approaching to the sound of Torche....bad thing
| |
Torche is good though
| |
"Take my bones away" is awesome brah
| |
It's alright, but this is better
| |
I like the chorus better on this one but TMBA has a better rhythm to it.
| |
cool vocals & sick drums.
| |
Tmba has a lot more going on too, yeah. This song is catchy but suffers from the same problems that made Mastodon's The Hunter such an average album. I just hope the rest of the album isn't like that.
| |
Sound is softer; must be pop
| |
this proves that baroness can do no wrong in my books. this song was amazing live. i just love this band. and honestly can't see myself being all that pissed when hipsters jump on the bandwagon. except that hipsters generally fucking suck.
| |
idk what to think about their new sound, but that chorus is terrible.
| |
Not really sold on the new sound either but will have to listen to the album before I decide if they suck now
| |
This rules. We must evolve with Baroness.
| |
Catchy thing. Sounds different but in my opinion still have this Baroness vibe.
| |
@deepintheorchard you mean devolve
| |
Met these dudes at a mexi restaurant in OK when they played with Deftones.
Had some drinks with them, ate some dinner, they were stand up dudes. I like this new song.
| |
I like TMBA slightly more, but this is a great jam. It's like what Mastodon pulled, but it actually worked.
| |
Still waiting to see if Yellow+Green will beat Blue or Red.
| |
I still want fucking purple
| |
I really like this song but I should probably reconsider "sludge metalers"
| |
It's what I predicted a long time ago. Every notable sludge band will go pop now. The song is rad.
| |
I really like it. Sorry, Karl.
hahahah you don't have to apologize to me for liking music. I was a huge fan of Red Album and this plus Blue Record is them watering down their sound. Who knows though, I haven't heard the whole double album yet so I can't pass judgement past this.
| |
Honestly, calling them 'sludge metallers' seems a bit narrow minded
| |
What is this I'm feeling? BEING EXCITED FOR A RELEASE FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS YEAR?
OH LAWD!
| |
i don't think this is watered down at all, this is just different for the red album.
| |
This is one band I cannot get into no matter how hard I try. I just don't like them. Granted I havent heard the Red album. Only some of Blue and then these singles.
| |
I love how the word 'pop' is blindly (or deaf-ly) thrown around nowadays. Pop is pop - this is not.
| |
i'll just leave this here:
http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Green/dp/B0089AF2DS/ref=tmm_msc_title_0?ie=UTF8&qid=1339599841&sr=8-1
it sounds like the pre-release tracks were a little bit misleading regarding what these albums are gonna sound like as a whole.
SPOILERS: it's actually gonna be even LESS metal than a lot of people are expecting. not that there's anything wrong with that though. liking the sound of some of those chiller-sounding samples.
| |
Good stuff,
Can't really criticize the change since I've not listened to Red or Blue that much.
| |
Production is weird, but those clips actually sounded good.
| |
The chorus is so meh.
| |
I like this direction, not at all bad.
| |
I have accepted that I can't be metal all the time. I need a few bands like Baroness in my collection. At least this is a band that I love and I could play while getting laid and not have 75% of the female populace wanna walk out. It's a proven fact that very few girls I wanna hump, wanna hump me while listening to Prowler in the Yard.
| |
Love the newer sound but it's kind of funny how they are following Mastodon's footsteps in their "evolution". Good shit nonetheless
| |
terrible, essentially pop rock with bad vocals and production
| |
That preview worries me. Sounded more like pop than rock. Probably won't be bad but it doesn't seem to have that drive that other baroness has.
| |
There's no real heaviness to it, which makes me feel like Baroness are going to forget what they're good at
| |
Comparing these songs to stuff like "cavite" and "Isak" makes me wanna puke.
| |
*sadface*
| |
Isak might be my favorite baroness song. If they just made red album pt. 2 I'd be okay with that
| |
They closed with Isak when I saw them live... holy shit.
| |
I'd like to see them live and hopefully when I do they'll play Isak
| |
people are still using the term "pop" to describe this sound, eh?
i take it none of these people actually LISTEN to any pop music, right?
| |
Obviously
| |
i take it none of these people actually LISTEN to any pop music, right?
i know enough about pop music to know that this inhabits a lot of traits from it. verse/chorus, clean production, etc.
| |
lol, a song with a pop music song structure does not automatically make it "pop music".
| |
"Pop" as in popularly accepted among the masses. Sounds like they did indeed lighten their sound that will most LIKELY attract new people to their music that normally wouldn't listen to them before. I think the term applies.
| |
this is the way i see it: If i can't imagine something playing on top 40 radio, then it's not pop music.
I don't see this getting on top 40 radio.
| |
Said the same thing about mastodon...
| |
Mastodon ISN'T a top 40 band though.
| |
shit is fucking wack.
| |
kinda cool
| |
lol, a song with a pop music song structure does not automatically make it "pop music".
which is why i never claimed it to be pop music
well done
| |
Spoilers: it sucks. [2]
| |
Technically, pop music is music that isn't classified as art or folk (massive simplification but meh), so in that sense, pretty much all metal is pop.
After listening to this a few more times, I don't see the hype about the chorus. Blue had some choruses much bigger than this.
| |
ok song. I think it's going to be a good summer album if anything else lol
| |
nothing wrong with good executed rock music, but i don't like that at all. song is really generic imho and the production is just wtf. and i really enjoy blue and red
| |
