Absolutely terrible. I couldn't even finish listening. Once it became clear that Chester was doing the "sing a few words quietly over and over and then SCREAM the same words over and over" bit for the bridge, I had to close the page.

That was not very good at all. :-(

This happening was kind of predictable to be honest. Their staple was always agressive rap-rock. They went through that stage every artist does when he/she/they feel as though they have a higher artistic calling than they actually do (in this case, LP went right for the U2 jugular), and when that inevitably fails they try to return to their roots, but either the style is outdated or they lost their touch.

But I'll still be awaiting the album...hopefully it isn't too terrible.

sounds like thousand suns with less creative lyrics/hooks. for what it's worth, i thought thousand suns was awesome.

The two singles were not very good, but is not at the same level of nickelback.I hope the rest of the album will be better but my expectations are not the highest, the problem is that they are trying to adapt their HT-Meteora sound to newer trends

ATS and MTM are a 2,5 . Those albums have 4 or 5 quality songs ,the remaining tracks of those 2 albums like In Between and Robot Boy were really bad

Men, don't complain about that, Is expected that mainstream acts like Linkin Park that have realesed works below the expectations get as response a lot of hate (specially in music websites like Sputnik) ,if you enjoy this . that's fine, you have your personal taste and is respectable and you don't have to care about the opinion of the others,take this as an advice.

both songs so far are much better than the any of the songs from the last album, but still nowhere near as good as anything from HT or Meteora, in my opinion.

Finally actually listened all the way through. Seems like Linkin Park is, as usual, trying to appease the mainstream genre of the year. Used to like this band years ago. Looking at them now, I almost feel embarrassed.

I love early LP and honestly didn't mind their newer stuff (a thousand suns was better than minutes to midnight) but this was pretty damn underwhelming.

Screw it, this band sucks. They need to go away.

Way better than the first single they released - the fuck-me-this-is-so-awful "Burn It Down" - but altogether not the most impressive thing in the world. The remaining ten songs have got to be flat out amazing if the album wants to get more than 2.5/5 from me.

Eep...little bit of an off day for LP on this one. Still clinging to "Burn It Down", I thought that was a great lead single and it offers me hope that they might pull it off despite this.

"Lies Greed Misery" would be a great track if the chorus didn't ruin it.

Doesn't make sense. If this song was in the old records, most of you would have called it a classic. It has everything that was there in the old records. Mike rapping, catchy chorus and scream portion for chester. Oh yea, the guitars come in a little late. So what?

Geez man, Give the band a break. Nobody's listening on Meteora was more POP than this song. Yet you guys consider all songs of that era to be classics.

You guys are just categorizing every song they do now as POP, electronic and lame after one album.

Its funny actually, in the Meteora review on this very site, the reviewer argued that the band had not explored and experimented and stuck with the same HT sound making it a HT part 2. I won't be surprised if that same person is criticizing the band right now. :-P
