Can't listen at work....just a stripes record or does it deviate? What's the sound if someone would be so kind to summarize.

Yeah, can't listen at work either. Sixteen saltines is awesome though.

it doesn't really sound like the stripes at all, but i guess the nearest comparison would be 'get behind me satan' era mixed with a bit of raconteurs. now that sounds awful, but the songwriting is the best it's been in years

Dude The Raconteurs kick ass. I'd take either of their albums over several White Stripes albums.

might be the best thing he's ever done. then again, the only project of his that i could legitimately consider myself a fan of until this point was The Dead Weather.

and no, this doesn't sound like The White Stripes at all. Sixteen Saltines feels kind of out-of-place on this thing. actually, a handful of tracks on here, from an instrumental standpoint, remind me a little bit of something off of Bryter Layter by Nick Drake.

This is so good it's not even funny.

Much more mature (for lack of a better word) sounding than classic White Stripes stuff, a lot more depth and cleaner production.
His song writing abilities are just so natural.

not digging the repetitive acoustic songs, but everything else is really great. Super tight songwriting. Fantastic production.

It doesn't top the White Stripes as the best thing he's ever done, but the album is delicious.

The Raconteurs >>> White Stripes

Except for the "Blue Orchid" song.

Yeah, I'm not your typical Jack White listener anyone got a problem? You don't want none of these problems!
