P.S. If "Kentucky" is this good, I will change my religion on Facebook to "Howard Shore, Michael Giacchino, AND A. Lundr."

"AKA Aaron Lundr"
His name is Austin Lunn
| |
Track was great though, can't wait for this.
| |
Whoa, thanks for catching that.
Song rules.
| |
thought you had marrow at a 3
| |
this is more of a temporary measure directed towards a certain beloved user who has a giant mancrush on marrow.
| |
heelllooooooo!! :]
| |
track sounds good, looking forward to someone releasing a good bm album sometime this year
whens his bluegrass album comin out?
| |
^ I've heard before the year's out, so hopefully soon.
| |
Oh, look at Noctus. Right on time.
Track's good, but the strings are unnecessary.
| |
the strings were the best part imo
| |
Hi Noctus :]
and yeah, the strings ruled
| |
i saw this, thought isis, then got disappointed
| |
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
| |
...except that this is *at least* as good as most Isis stuff that wan't released from 2002-2005.
| |
sorry for term but i might say that is a beautiful piece
| |
I didn't hate the first set of strings, but I didn't think they were anything special.
The second set just came off as needlessly plaintive, as layered strings are wont to do, and they just loop for the most part, so I don't see why they're that interesting... :/
| |
Grim and kvlt. Yeah.
| |
This is alright.
| |
Song was good but I still prefer his first two albums more so than his newer direction.
| |
What "newer direction?" He went all blackgaze on the second WWW split, post-bm on Mortality, he's going raw on this album, and he's going folk/bluegrassy on Kentucky. There isn't really a single unified "new direction."
| |
"He went all blackgaze on the second WWW split, post-bm on Mortality"
kids these days
| |
What else would you call it?
| |
by the way i didn't like the song :[
| |
HOLY FUCK, NOCTUS
| |
it's just boring! :[ like everything else panopticon has done!!
it's not my fault, leave me alone!! ]:
| |
atmospheric black metal?
FUCK THAT POST BM
| |
you're a fucking idiot @ Noctus
| |
Noctus going against the grain, as usual. :]
| |
nice fagalloch pun
| |
i'm glad someone is finally using fagalloch
| |
queerly, you've made it a widely assrectumed word
| |
Im not crazy about the song either. It aint no Death of Baldr dats for sure.
| |
you're a fucking idiot @ Noctus
yeah well at least i'm cuddly, bitch! :]

Snuggly like a Snorlax.
| |
snorlax's look like the best snuggles ever [:
@vesper: you are too, it's true! :]
| |
I like this song, though. The wailing growls at the beginning are epic.
| |
Awww, Joe. *big heart*
:3
| |
I hate everyone.
(Also, lol at anyone dumb enough to come in here thinking this has anything to do with Isis.)
| |
the strings were the best part imo

You just proved yourself an idiot.
| |
You just proved yourself an idiot. [2]
| |
I'm sorry if my genre terms were way off (it's pretty hard to differentiate sometimes), but my point was that out of everything he's released over the course of 2011/will release this year, there is not a single unified direction. They all seem to have different sounds. Sorry if mixing up microgenres makes me an idiot.
| |
wouldn't post bm and blackgaze be the same thing if they were to exist
| |
shoegaze /= post-rock.
| |
if post bm existed it wouldn't sound like bm
| |
i know shoegaze and post rock are different but i thought it was pretty clear that the whole "post-bm" term encompasses both influences on the genre
| |
I think that it makes sense for them to both be referring to an all-encompassing style, but in my mind there are disticnt qualities of blackgaze that seperate it from post-bm. It's sort of the "a square is always a rectangle, but a rectangle is not always a square" thing.*
*this is all assuming that post-bm/blackgaze exist
| |
im not really entirely sure what "post-bm" actually signifies, because most "post-bm" acts are still pretty much bm
| |
Lundr is going to break into your homes and murder you all in your sleep for desecrating this thread.
| |
pretty sure that post bm is something you would give to expansive music influenced by black metal in the future
not post rock + bm
| |
why can't it mean post-rock and black metal though. if that is what that combination of genres is being referred by pretty much anyone, well, isn't that what it's called? sure it's not *technically* correct, but i'm sure future us will have a label for whatever "post-black metal" really turns out to be
| |
next year i head to college, and 4 years after that ima go for a phd. my thesis will be relating to my discovery of every correct label for every single genre that ever existed and which genres truly do not exist, and i will get a nobel peace prize because i brought peace to threads like this one
| |
Duh, this thread.
| |
Pretty sure post-black is a thing. Like snow yeti! Only less fuzzy (both arm-hair and production-wise)!
| |
"post-black" sounds so fucking dumb I can't even tell.
| |
Would "raw avant-garde black jazz fusion" sound more to your liking?
| |
Bump. Downloaded this from Flenser's bandcamp page and I like it much more. Even more stoked for this release now.
