ordered this as soon as i saw the news. four walls is great, and the packaging/limited quantity is enough to suck me in.
|
| |
Genuinely cannot believe how much atmosphere that contained and held constant for 12 minutes.
|
| |
A year and a half later and we only get this.....
|
| |
Is sick as hell
|
| |
awesome.
this could be the thing to jump start massive attack to that Mezzanine level of greatness.
|

looking forward to this =)
|
| |
This is nice, glad they used Hope Sandoval for it, sounds really good.
|
| |
2 songs? that's it? :/
|
| |
Yeah that's too bad but it's ~24 minutes which is longer than the Stolen Dog EP.
|

Street Halo

Took me a couple minutes to realise I still had an RA podcast playing in the background, hate it when
that happens.
As for the actual song, let me be the first to say that it is pretty average. One of the comments on
youtube suggested it felt like a four minute song, but boy did I feel every one of those twelve
minutes. Never did anything special, nor seemed intent on reaching beyond its meandering tone. I get
the feeling they could have just each shat in a bag, mixed it up with some milk and some of you guys
would still be drinking it claiming it the best milkshake you've ever had.
|
| |
I LISTENED TO BURIAL BBEFORE HE WAS MAI
|
| |
'let me be the first' and hopefully the last.
i get what you're saying about it being sortof static and i wouldn't say it feels like less than the 12 minute song that it is, but it's a gorgeous portrayal of that dark atmospheric mood i'm obsessed with and a really excellent fusion of 2 of my favorite musicians. nothing that'll get airplay anywhere cause it's dark, somewhat simplistic and doesn't have a hook but i was super impressed by the chemistry the two of them had between them here.

it's alright, i guess. expected better.

I drink your milkshake

well played jason
|

I'll fight the good fight on aokuneffs side. I think the atmosphere on here is incredible and after 12 min I wanted more.
|
| |
I love deeply atmospheric songs that go nowhere

I'm pretty positive that most people were looking for a song that sounded like Massive Attack and Burial. In that, it was successful.
That doesn't necessitate that it was good.
It's not a shit milkshake its a magic bullet massive attack icecream and burial fruit smoothie.
I'm not really seeing those flavours evoked by the song.

This is where I disagree, its a drab and tepid portrayal of dark atmospheric music, give me something like 'In McDonalds' over this any day.
