INXS Unveil New Singer

2011-09-27 by DaveyBoy EMERITUS | 20 Comments
INXS have unveiled their new lead vocalist to replace American reality show winner JD Fortune. This time, the veteran Australian band have looked to Belfast - Northern Ireland for their frontman, with the gig going to Ciaran Gribbin.

A singer & songwriter, Gribbin has worked with the likes of Madonna, Snow Patrol & Groove Armada, as well as working on music for movies such 'Killing Bono', 'Heartless' and 'Wild Target'.

"Without a doubt I was a fan of INXS" he told Billboard.com. "I remember 'Kick' like it was yesterday. I remember seeing the guys on MTV and then on Jools Holland's BBC show watching as a kid, just blown away by them. INXS definitely played a huge part in my musical education as a songwriter and something I aspired to, so to be in the band now is pretty amazing".

Gribbin is set to hit the road with INXS for a six-show run through South America, Europe and Australia in November.

I hate when bands try to cash out long after the main member dies

High five for autoeroticasphyxiation jokes Porch.

This band should have ended when Michael Hutchence died. They aren't even in the same realm of music anymore as the band they used to be. Should rename themselves "Generic VH1 Hard Rock Band for Aging 80s hair metal fans #9002", would be a more apt description.

I remember that INXS show that came on when they were looking for a new singer long ago; fun stuff it was.

True, but they did have a few good albums in the 80s and a few really good singles. "Don't Change" is a killer little song.

Last decent release 1993. INXS died before Hutchence.

I can't wait to see them on tour with 'Generic VH1 Hard Rock Band for Aging 80s hair metal fans
#4562'. I head they are using 2 original members instead of 1 this year!!!
