|
| |
This'll be gooooood.
|
| |
do it aids.

I'm slowly getting into post-rock. I got GYBE, Explosions In the Sky, and Sigur Ros. Is Mogawi a band I should start getting familiar with?
|
| |
They're a little inconsistent but you should definitely look into them. Young Team in particular is essential
|
| |
Good news.
|
| |
Man, I was sorta unimpressed with "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will".
So, I hope this is good.
I still need to get my hands on Young Team, I love that thing.

young team is all you need really
|
| |
I'd add Happy Songs For Happy People for them as well. Maybe Mr. Beast or Rock Action. Everything else is not worth your time. Their last album was really, really disappointing.
|
| |
Digging the hell out of 'Harcore', so this is gonna be awesome. I know it.
|
| |
I don't feel that they've released a single weak album. Even my least favorite album by them (Mr. Beast) really isn't bad at all. Just inconsistent. THIH and CODY are both somewhat inconsistent as well, but the high points on those albums are so absurdly good that it's easily to overlook the albums flaws.
Hardcore, Happy Songs, and Young Team are all easy 4.5s. Highly recommended.

Can't wait till September, new Anthrax and Mogwai albums yay!

I'm slowly getting into post-rock [2]
I've only listened to Explosions In the Sky so far. Will listen to this though

Listen to Red Sparowes, Russian Circles, If These Trees Could Talk. Also 65daysofstartc and maybeshewill for a different but awesome approach to instrumental post rock.

actually, i have a better idea: don't.
|
| |
tortoise is so fucking boring
|
| |
Tortoise has a really minimalistic form to their music and is quite difficult to get into, but if you're into anything remotely ambient its a great listen.
|
| |
More Mogwai = Awesomeness.
|
| |
Man, Tortoise is beastly. I love those guys.
However, I love post-rock with an ambient spin. That's by far my favorite type of music.
If you like Tortoise, you might like The Weak Men and Amplifier Machine. They're both very, very, minimalistic, but still post-rock enough to not be ambient. I love them. Rooftop Access is pretty sweet too, as well as My Beloved.
|
| |
You should check Jakob
|
| |
well, Hawk is a 4 and Hardcore is a 4.5. so it looks like you're wrong.

I still think Mogwai haven't released a bad LP yet. On another note Tortoise is dull.
