I couldn't get into the Howard Jones KsE. End of Heartache had some decent material, but it became too formulaic for my taste. Howard Jones can sing and scream, but I just prefer Jesse Leach's vocals more. Plus, Seemless showed how diverse he really is as a vocalist.

Hope somebody takes some nice vids of this.

I was supposed to see KSE last monday, glad I didnt though because Killswitch bailed on the night. Prefer Howard over Jesse anyways.

True that, The Empire Shall Fall seems to be progressing further then Killswitch is able to at this point.

Haven't heard any of Leach's other stuff but I'm really intrigued now.

The Empire Shall Fall is probably his heaviest "other" project, it's metalcore with a touch of jazz and hardcore. Seemless is a kind of blues rock with a tad bit of metal thrown in on some songs.

i would never shit on jones, I just prefer the stuff that Leach did better than Jones. I just wish they would branch outside of the basic formula that they have been doing.

I prefer aggressive vocalists, guys who sound pissed off angry as if the world just fucked them over,
these type of vocalists just bring so much emotion which I enjoy. Howard's got great pipes but he
lacks the passion and energy of Leach on records and live imo.

Leach = Jones. No difference whatsoever. I've seen them both live and both ruled.

everything else besides the vocals were better w/ leach...even though, i think his voice has more character, and is a little "purer"...howard often sounds nasally to me. but then again, howard sounds more unique...in my opinion.

And that's a fair assessment, I will give you that. Just seems to me that this battle over the two singers is petty. The only difference I can see is that the band created better music when they had Leach, but vocally, it's only subtle differences, nothing to get your panties in a knot over.

Yes, you do. it is actually still a good record. I think. I just want to state that I wasn't saying that one is better than the other. It's just I prefer Jesse's approach on that album, than more say the other albums. Maybe if Leech stayed, he would sound the same way. Most likely. Both are good singers, but I think Jesse has rawer emotional like others have said...as far as what I have heard Jesse do vocal wise in two separate styles of music, he has more versatility. And I did KsE live with Howard, and it was entertaining....it was actually at Wacken.

I've got their debut on now and while Leach is good, I know that Howard had some good bite to his vocals on The End of Heartache. You're probably right about that particular song so I will give it to you.
