R.I.P. Toshio Nakanishi 5 replies

The groundbreaking Japanese musician, Toshio Nakanishi, passed away February 25th due to complications from esophageal cancer. He was first diagnosed with the disease last September before succumbing to the illness five months later. He was only 61 years old.

Nakanishi is considered to be a legendary artist in the field of electronic music, in particular with his band Plastics, which remains one of the most critically acclaimed new wave outfits of the 1980's in Japan. He also is a key figure in popularizing both house and hip hop music in Japan with his project Major Force which was active for over two decades.

The band have been teasing a release for the past month with short video clips uploaded to their various social media platforms. The song, entitled "Let You Down", is available now, you can watch the video below. Poison the Parish is due out May 5th.

Ulver announce new album 43 replies

The new album by Ulver, The Assassination of Julius Caesar, will be released on April 7. This will be their first studio album since Wars of the Roses from 2011.

This release comes hot on the heels from their soundtrack Riverhead from last December, and the improvisational live album ATGCLVLSSCAP from January 2016.

Limited Cult of Luna bundle announced 9 replies

Indie Recordings have shared a sneak peak of Cult of Luna's incoming bundle Years in a Day with footage from "The Sweep" and "Light Chaser".

The bundle will be limited to 7000 copies and it seems it will only be available through the band's official website (

It includes several goodies including a 2 hour DVD, 2 live CDs, a download code for HD audio and video of said 2 hours DVD and a 20 page booklet. The package comes on a 10-inch vinyl-sized trifold format.

Crystal Fairy stream debut LP 3 replies

Epic leaves Crazy Town 26 replies

Brett "Epic" Mazur, the co-founder and primary song writer for rap-rock group Crazy Town, has announced that due to personal commitments he will no longer tour with the band. He had previously been absent from their 2016 touring commitments, with his place in the band covered by ex-Adema vocalist Bobby Reeves and Boondock, although it has yet to be announced who will be his full-time replacement in the band. Boondock is currently touring with Seth "Shifty" Binzer and DJ Rick "R1CKONE" Dickson in Crazy Town's more hip-hop oriented form for a number of dates in March.
