Nachtmystium not breaking up 26 replies

Contrary to reports last year from Nachtmystium mastermind Blake Judd that he had chosen
to dissolve the project, Judd recently revealed in an interview with Metal Mayhem
Underground that he has decided not, in fact, to completely disband the band.

Read the full statement below:

"Well, I have actually decided not to end the band. The time I announced that
Nachtmystium was no more came after a series of really difficult issues and situations,
and I decided it was time for a major change in my personal life. Nachtmystium has
dominated just about every aspect of my life and has been extremely consuming of my time.

With the touring band lifestyle being what it is, it caused me to get very involved with
drugs. I am an addict and have struggled with substance abuse issues for years, but in
the last four years or so, it got way out of control and began to ruin my life. I decided

vocalist Gerard Way from beginning a solo career. After 12 years with his band MCR and

album Hesitant Alien.

In an interview with NME, he describes being inspired by themes of "struggle,
beginnings, finding a newness in the mundane and the abstract." He also mentions Britpop's
Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), and Frank Black (The Pixies) as artists
that have also inspired his new solo career.

Wintersun Update 68 replies

Wintersun frontman Jari Mäenpää has released an update regarding the future of the band
through their Facebook page.

Reality Update About Crowd Funding, TIME II And Future Albums

I´m very happy to see that we have so much dedicated fans that would be willing to pledge and be a part of funding a studio for Wintersun, so I could make the next Wintersun
album without it taking another 10 years again.

I´ve been thinking about this Kickstarter/Pledge crowd funding thing for a while and I´m very confident now that there is enough of you guys that would help us raise the money
for the Wintersun studio! This would give me the freedom to make music efficiently and nonstop. It would eliminate lot of the problems I´ve struggled with all my life and still
continue to struggle everyday. For example right now I need a studio to reamp guitars for TIME II. And not just any studio, my own studio where I can craft my sou ...more

Ex-Queensryche vocalist, Geoff Tate, has announced that his current version of Queensryche will be forging ahead as Operation: Mindcrime after the tour ends.

Named after Queensryche’s epic concept album from 1988, Operation: Mindcrime -- a band consisting of Geoff Tate, Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake), Simon Wright (AC/DC, Dio), Randy Gane (Myth) and Kelly Gray (Queensryche 1998 – 2001, 2012 – present) -- will be entering the studio in September to begin recording a trilogy project that Geoff’s been working on for the past two years.

Tate, who has always enjoyed telling stories through music, considers the creation of the forthcoming trilogy one of his biggest and most ambitious works to date.

“I tried to reduce the story and eventually got it down to 37 ideas that needed representing to complete the story,” comments Geoff. “I knew that one record wouldn’t cover it and that it would have to be a trilogy. It’s an exc ...more

Lil B: "No Black Person Is Ugly" 77 replies

Bay Area rapper Lil B 'The Based God' has released a music video for his song 'No Black
Person Is Ugly' from his upcoming mixtape Ultimate Bitch.

Much unlike most of Lil B's classic tracks which mainly deal with the rapper's immense
wealth and ever-growing number of women, the song and video targets the sensitive and still
very serious issue of racism in the world today. In the song, Lil B references that he
himself has even been a target of slanderous and hurtful words attributed to his ethnicity.
Despite this, the California native promotes living life through the positive.

Thank you, Based God.

Lil B's Hoop Life mixtape is available for free through BasedWorld Records.

The tracklist and release date for the album are not known at this point, but the band feels invigorated and very excited to be working on new material.

"After over 20 years, I have finally laid down the first tracks to the record I have always wanted to make. There are enough organic elements, composed pieces, emotion, doom, dark melody and genuine malevolence to stand up to any our previous works. (...) We are here now, and intend to make the 7th Drawn And Quartered record. So far it has been an amazing experience, I will enjoy every second of i ...more
