Singer/songwriter/Internet superstar Jonathan Coulton's version of "Baby Got Back" appears to have been shamelessly ripped off by those lovely folks on Fox's Glee, where high schoolers are played by a bunch of 30-somethings and butcher songs when they're not boning each other.
Jane Lynch is a badass, though.
Anyway, according to Coulton's Twitter, he was never contacted by Fox and contends that the backing track is not an original Glee recording, but the one he created when he covered the song.
The side-by-side comparison, posted by reddit user suudo, is nutty (left channel is Coulton's, the right channel is Glee's):
https://soundcloud.com/suudo/joco-vs-glee-baby-got-back
What seems particularly damning about the Glee version is that it includes Coulton's lyrical edit "Johnny C's in trouble", which he inserted into his cover (rather than "Mix-a-Lot's in trouble").

John Mayer is widely known for being an exceptionally talented musician but his notorious playboy antics have overshadowed his career. The high profile cases have landed him in hot water but unscathed until a latest talk with Rolling Stone magazine. In the article he opens up about feeling publicly ridiculed by a 2010 song called “Dear John” written by then 19-year-old country pop star Taylor Swift.
Mayer confessed that the hit made him feel terrible and was a lousy thing to do considering his ability to account for his actions. In an attempt to show how blindsided he was by his ex-flame’s venting method Mayer stated, “It really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"
When asked about the real story behind the unflattering lyrics he quickly changed the subject to Swift’s credibility as an artist. While admitting he’s not trying to downplay her ... more

On August 7, Sixpence None the Richer will be releasing new music. Originally titled Strange Conversation and rumored for release since 2010, Lost in Transition is the band's first full-length recording of original material since 2002's Divine Discontent.
The Nashville-based band broke into the mainstream with "Kiss Me" and had a number of successful hits before core members Leigh Nash and Matt Slocum temporarily parted ways in 2004. Inspired by many events during the years away, the two have reunited to write a collection of songs that retains the Sixpence familiarity while exploring new lyrical themes.
Perez Hilton (yes, Perez Hilton) is exclusively streaming the first new song from Lost in Transition. "Radio" can be listened to here:
