http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1ZY5OePsS0&feature=channel French screamo band Sed Non Satiata has posted a new song on their website. It is yet to be seen if the new song, titled 'Les colonnes de soie', is part of their next LP announced as "coming soon".
http://www.sednonsatiata.com/site.html In a recent post from Tomas Kalnoky, he stated that Streetlight Manifesto have run into opposition from a certain record label regarding their 99 Songs of the Revolution project.
"We can't announce the release date because we don't know when it is. What we can say is this: some record labels (not naming names here, so it can't be "libel") are just plain horrendous. Seriously though, it's a sad fact that the bullshit bands have to put up with from some labels isn't worth the benefits (ha!) of being on said labels. That being said, it looks like Volume One will be released on vinyl via the Pentimento Music Company long before it comes out on CD or digitally." Underoath are selling a custom hand painted drum by the band for charity on Ebay. The auction will end November 28, 2009 at 12:00:09 PST.
All funds received from the sale go to benefit the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association. Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is the most common known genetic cause of life-threatening obesity in children. Although the cause is complex it results from an abnormality on the 15th chromosome. It occurs in males and females equally and in all races.

http://stereogum.com/archives/new_animal_collective__graze_101861.html Interpol are now recording a follow up to 2007's Our Love to Admire at New York City's Electric Lady Studios. Drummer Sam Fogarino has said that the new album will recall their stunning debut Turn on The Bright Lights, stating:
The new record falls back towards the first. In trying to move forward, there was an unspoken realization that you can't let go of your sonic-defining tag. There was an effort in Daniel [Kessler]'s guitar tone; he rediscovered it playing in his loft space for a year without anybody. The quality of that tone, played in a big room, is just beautiful. It creates an atmosphere ... That big wash of reverb? It's back.
The album is said to be released in early Spring 2010 via Capitol records. The Decemberists' rock opera The Hazards of Love is to be made into a film, entitled Here Come the Waves: The Hazards of Love Visualized.
Filmmakers Guilherme Marcondes, Julia Pott, Peter Sluszka and Santa Maria have contributed animations to accompany the texture of the album. A preview of the film, which will be made available on iTunes on December 1, can be seen via Youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITC8B4wWMl8 Recently a poll was conducted on the R&M subforum of sputnikmusic.com to determine the top albums of the past decade.
A total of 328 albums were submitted for the poll, of which the top 50 are ordered precisely and then the remaining 278 are categorised by number of points received. Albums could be from any genre, though they had to be released between 1 Jan 2000 and 31 Dec 2009, and collections, remasters and greatest hits albums were disallowed. The first round in which the albums were submitted was characterised by a points system – each submission had up to 10 albums, with the first ranked album awarded 10 points, the second 9 points, and so on.
Naturally such a system will lead to ties between albums, and so to disentangle all the tied albums in the top 50, a second round was held where albums with the same number of votes were pitted head to head, with each user selecting one between the albums with that particular score. http://tunelab.com/2009/11/13/oasis-members-starting-new-band-without-noel-gallagher/ Demon Hunter recently released a press release in regards to a fifth studio album. The Christian Metalcore band has 4 studio albums already under their belt since signing with Solid State back in 2002, and have already gone through a slew of line-up changes; with the most recent of which being both guitarists Don Clark and Ethan Luck. Replacing them are Patrick Judge and Randy Torres (Project 86).
Furthermore, Ryan Clark also announced the albums recording status and his sentiments towards the developments:
"...We have been busy working on material for our 5th album, which we will be entering the studio to record in October. At this point, I would say about 90% of the music has been written, and probably about 40% of the lyrics/melodies. As cliché as it can be to say, the album is shaping up to be heavier, faster, and more aggressive than previous Demon Hunter material (and there might be a ballad or two in there for good measure). The seven-show stint was due to begin on November 18 in Nottingham, but will now kick off in Manchester's Academy on March 7. All tickets for the original shows are still valid.
Araya has been laid up for the past couple of weeks with blood clots in his back, and the decision has been made to call off all forthcoming dates. "Right now," said Slayer's manager, Rick Sales, "our main concern must be the full and permanent recovery of Tom, so we have decided to clear the calendar and give him the extra time he needs to concentrate solely on good health."
Slayer have already pushed back to an unspecified date the Canadian Carnage tour with Megadeth that was due to begin on November 8.

I'd love to [tour and record again]. It would be the coolest thing in the world. [The Jimmy Fallon performance is] a safe way of seeing if it's still fun to play together, or get back together. It's an easy way to test the waters. I can't say whether it's going to lead to a full-length show or any touring, but we'll see. We're taking it one step at a time.
The band is set to play their first show in over 12 years on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on December 8th, as well as reissue their landmark album For You Own Special Sweetheart later in the month.
