Ranking All Songs On Blackwater Park By Opeth
My first list on here was ranking the songs on Ghost Reveries, I may just do
this with all Opeth albums. |
1 | Opeth The Leper Affinity
This just might be my all time favorite Opeth song, an absolute masterpiece. It explodes in
from the very beginning, the drums are fantastic, the riffs are great, and the solos are
great as well. Flawless song in my opinion. |
2 | The Drapery Falls
This is the first Opeth song that really caught my attention, and I still love it to this day.
It builds well, and the intro riff (which also ends the song) is very memorable. |
3 | Blackwater Park
This is widely considered Opeth's greatest song. I disagree, but I see how people could
think that. My only problem with it is that it gets a bit repetitive. It's a fantastic song
nonetheless. The drums build it up perfectly and the calmer part is just the right length. |
4 | Bleak
This song is very catchy. I love the way it explodes in right after The Leper Affinity. It's
not quite as heavy as the rest of the album until after the final chorus, which works
perfectly with the fast double bass and the evil sounding riff. One of my favorite song
moments in all of Opeth's discography. |
5 | The Funeral Portrait
The main riff for this song is one of my favorite of all time. And although this song is one of
the shorter songs on the album, it feels like it drags quite a bit. Dat main riff tho |
6 | Dirge for November
Sometimes I forget how good this song is. Again, it's a bit repetitive, but a good song. I
prefer the calm parts at the beginning and end. |
7 | Patterns in the Ivy
Definitely one of the better interludes Opeth has made. Just can't rank it very high
considering it's just an interlude. |
8 | Harvest
A bit boring. But not bad overall, really like Akerfeldt's voice on this song. |
