Back To School Jams
Yeah, now that a month of school has gone by, I have gotten used to my
school/work schedule and have made a little bit of precious time to listen to
music. So here's the recent playlist - |
1 | | Deer Leap and The World Is A Beautiful Place... Are Here To Help You
Just found this split release; It's a great emo/post-rock sound. |
2 | | The Sun and the Ocean Before I was God
One of my top releases of 2013 - a promising debut album incorporating outstanding
acoustics, tight electronic samples, and shimmering vocals. |
3 | | Cloudkicker Subsume
Consistently decent. |
4 | | Jonsi Go
Not as great as Sigur Ros, but still a solid listen. |
5 | | Moving Mountains Moving Mountains
Somewhat disappointing. |
6 | | The Sleep Design All That Is Not Music Is Silence
3.8/5 |
7 | | Faces Ooh La la
The title track is catchy as hell and one of my recent favorites. Although it's older
than what I usually listen to, I still love it. |
8 | | Aural Method When I Drifted I Heard a Faint Melody
Brilliant post-rock/ambient material. 4.2/5 |
9 | | Nine Inch Nails Hesitation Marks
Now that the hype has died down - It was almost exactly what I expected. An
entertaining listen, but not too much that really has stuck with me like past albums. |
10 | | Franz Ferdinand Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action
3.2/5 |
11 | | Black Light Burns Cruel Melody
Industrial - 3.7/5 |
12 | | Earl Sweatshirt Doris
Could've been better - 3.5/5 |
13 | | Robert Delong Just Movement
RD's debut album is full of explosive alternative/indie songs with heavy electronic
influence. His tracks are catchy and unique. 4.4/5 |
14 | | John Mayer Paradise Valley
Remember me? I'm the boy you used to love when you were 15. |
15 | | Damien Rice O
Glad I stumbled upon this dude. |
16 | | The Calm Blue Sea The Calm Blue Sea
Post-rock - 3.6/5 |
17 | | AlunaGeorge Body Music
This managed to make pop music sound interesting. 3.2/5 |
18 | | Wild Belle Isles
Indie/Ska - 3/5 |
19 | | As Tall As Lions Lafcadio
What an insanely awesome debut. Needs more attention - 4.6/5 |
20 | | Kanye West Yeezus
Yeezus and ...Like Clockwork have been in the running so far for my AOTY. I
jammed QOTSA for so long and it finally started to get old, but I have had Yeezus
in my car stereo for about a month now. I drive every single day and now have
almost every line of every song memorized. It's something unique, as always,
coming from the cockiest bastard of the rap industry. I really wish Kanye made
shitty music so that I could hate him. On Yeezus, Kanye changes everything except
his lyrical approach. Justin Vernon a.k.a Bon Iver makes an excellent addition to
tracks like "I'm In It" and "Hold My Liquor". 4.9/5 |
