09.29.13 | I saw it too and feel the exact same way - even with the pissing part.
There were a couple times when I thought the movie was gonna end but then everything changed and it kept me guessing - just like you said. The movie was really long, but it never got boring for me. I would definitely go to see it again, I'm sure I could pick out more details - I was really tired the first time I saw it. |

09.29.13 | Yeah, I for sure want to see it again. I feel like it's one of those movies that get better on repeat viewings. |

09.29.13 | now i gotta see it...dammit. |

09.29.13 | Surprisingly memorable for this type of film, especially the hammer scene and the drive to the hospital. |
Balerion

09.29.13 | When they took the sack off of Paul Dano's face and he was all fucked up, that was crazy. |
KenboSlice
09.29.13 | I'm not sure about the creeper dude, I'm sure he was just fucked up.
But I'm almost 100% sure that Paul Dano's character was being drugged the whole time, which probably explains why he acted so strangely. |
KenboSlice
09.29.13 | Possibly, he was kidnapped for 26 years. I'm also sure after taking those drugs for so long, he would still be fucked up even if he was off them for a few days. |

09.29.13 | So can we talk about it? Spoilers now?
At first when they raided the "puzzle guy" 's house, I thought the body parts in the sink were the cut up pieces of the missing girls. I don't understand why he had snakes in the same boxes as the girls' clothing. But, the reason he broke into the house was to steal the clothing of the girls. Somehow he was framing himself...? Maybe? Or was it just some weird obsession with children's clothing? Why did he kill himself?
So many unanswered questions, but that's kind of the beauty of the movie. It really makes you think. |
KenboSlice
09.29.13 | I honestly thought they were body parts too. But still, filling mannequin children with pigs blood and killing them? That's just weird man. |

@andcas
I agree with both of you guys. I just really wanted to know what the "puzzle guy" 's role in the main case was. |
KenboSlice
09.29.13 | Maybe. I don't know. I like that pretty much everything is up for speculation. Good for creating discussion. |

09.29.13 | I thought maybe the puzzle guy was one of that old lady's "disappeared children" that eventually got out and was living on his own. She just used him as a pawn to steal the children's clothes so it took attention away from her.
I've got to admit, the "whistle" scene at the end - I could totally see that one coming. |

10.12.13 | Exceptional ending, but there didn't seem to be enough character development. I did miss the first 20 minutes though. Will watch again. |
