Top 5 Q1 2013

2013 so far.
5The Dear Hunter
Migrant

I really dont see what all the fuss was about. It wasn't so much underwhelming to me as it was just far different than what I (and I think anyone else) was expecting it to be. Despite that fact the record is very personal and introspective. I feel as though many of these songs were written just for me. A grower for sure.

Innovative, interesting, and catchy all the same time. These guys can do no wrong.
3K Sera
Collisions and Near Misses

Casey's hand in this is quite evident. Will definitely be watching these guys with great enthusiasm.
2Steven Wilson
The Raven That Refused to Sing

I dont care that his influences are so apparent. His influences are the same as mine and that is what makes this such a fantastic record. He pays homage to the legends of the Prog genre.
1The Fall of Every Season
Amends

Truly breathtaking. Reminds me of how I felt when I first checked out Ne Obliviscaris' debut last year. Serious contender for AOTY.
