Top 5 Q1 2013
2013 so far.
|5||The Dear Hunter|
I really dont see what all the fuss was about. It wasn't so much underwhelming to me as it was just far different than what I
(and I think anyone else) was expecting it to be. Despite that fact the record is very personal and introspective. I feel as
though many of these songs were written just for me. A grower for sure.
Innovative, interesting, and catchy all the same time. These guys can do no wrong.
Collisions and Near Misses
Casey's hand in this is quite evident. Will definitely be watching these guys with great enthusiasm.
The Raven That Refused to Sing
I dont care that his influences are so apparent. His influences are the same as mine and that is what makes this such a
fantastic record. He pays homage to the legends of the Prog genre.
|1||The Fall of Every Season|
Truly breathtaking. Reminds me of how I felt when I first checked out Ne Obliviscaris' debut last year. Serious contender for
Hmm... 1 looks interesting.
You wont be disappointed.
I'd personally put TTNG over K Sera, but that's just me.
only 5 things?
Yeah, i'd say you're right as far as pure musicianship goes. That was a very close call for me.
@Calc I've heard and enjoyed much more than this, these are just the 5 that have resonated the best. I've been wanting to check out the new Clutch, but I also dig the new Intronaut. Also, your review got me to check out Pomegranate Tiger. I was not disappointed. =D
oh well thats awesome, thats why I wrote it after all lol
New Clutch is very solid. Almost as good as Blast Tyrant, which is saying a lot.
1 is incredible
