What Did Your Parents Listen To?

I think what your parents listen to when you are younger has a big effect ron your tastes as you grow up. What are some things your parents listened rto and how has it effected you?
1Jimmy Eat World
Bleed American

Albums my Dad listened to My dad played this a lot when I was younger. It so happens to be one of my favorite albums.
2Keith Urban
Be Here

My dad also played in a lot of country bands, so he also listened to a lot of country. I don't like a lot of country, but I love stuff like Ryan Adams or Chet Atkins
3Vertical Horizon
Everything You Want

My dad listened to this a lot, and now he's one of their guitarists. So I hear this album 24/7. And its so annoying. It has definitely made me build up tolerance for music I don't like and not get annoyed too much by it.
4U2
How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb

This is one of my least favorite U2 albums, but it's the one I remember being played in my house the most. I think all the U2 being played in my house definitely had an effect on my love for delay pedals. I love delay pedals. I could never have too many.
5 Diffuser
Injury Loves Melody

The first track, "I am" is pretty great. I always thought the backing vocals on the chorus was the coolest thing ever. Whenever I write a song, that's always a chorus I try to model.
6 Jon Foreman
Fall

Stuff my Mom listened to: My mom was a huge Switchfoot/Jon Foreman fan. I loved them. And hate them. I always wished I could write lyrics like him.
7Switchfoot
Nothing is Sound

I head Stars on repeat 24/7 when it came out. The opening is something that I think influenced me a lot because a lot of the riffs I write somehow always have a similar rhythm.
8Foo Fighters
The Colour and the Shape

Everlong was one of my favorite songs for the longest time. I love the way that song kind of builds.
9Weezer
Make Believe

My mom doesn't like the good Weezer (Blue Album, Pinkerton). But I guess I like Weezer cause of her.
10Sanctus Real
The Face of Love

My parents don't really listen to that many types of music.
