Cygnatti
02.13.15 | that was on my to-watch list, maxie! had no clue it was a BB sequel. |
DrMaximus
02.13.15 | It's a prequel to BB, showing Saul's life before he set up his strip-mall law office. |
Cygnatti
02.13.15 | funny thing, i've gotten to the episode right before "better caul saul" in season 2 of breaking bad. looks like i still got a ways to catch up! |

Anything Joss Whedon. Based off of your likings, I reccomend Firefly |
DaveyBoy
02.13.15 | English shows are better than American... Try Broadchurch, The Fall, Hidden Valley & The Missing.
But if you must go American, then go the clusterf*ck that is 'Banshee'. Heaps of sex, heaps of violence and more demographic groups (in a small town no less) than the users of Sputnik. |
Cygnatti
02.13.15 | Heard about the fall and was thinkin about watching it. Haven't heard the others tho.
I've seen his name before but I never knew who joss whedon was tbh. |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | The Wire isn't on your list...? If you haven't yet watched The Wire, watch The Wire before anything else |
Cygnatti
02.13.15 | I would man but I dun wanna fall asleep again. :/ |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | Dude... that show is the most constantly interesting and engaging series out there
Though I guess if I think about it I've heard a couple of people say similar things before? But man I don't get that |
DominionMM1
02.13.15 | "The Wire isn't on your list...? If you haven't yet watched The Wire, watch The Wire before anything else"
the wire man the motherfucking wire
|
Cygnatti
02.13.15 | Yeah I've heard people say stuff like that before but sat through like 4-5 episodes and I was just like "holy shit I don't care about any of these characters or even really what's going on" and decided to watch breaking bad instead. :/ |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | Breaking Bad is fun, high quality TV but The Wire is beyond that... you don't watch it in the same way. That's just what I think anyways |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | That's not to say it's not fun, I enjoyed it more than anything else out there, though I wasn't loving it so much when I first got started either... after you really get into it you start to see how expertly it covers a whole lot of stuff, political, social, etc and it just does everything so well and in such an engaging manner. It was by the third season I began to start really appreciating what I was beholding |
MuhNamesTyler
02.13.15 | The mentalist
Bones
Castle
Something about a b in apt 23 idk |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | ...and the characters are AMAZING dude! I'm just rambling now though |
demigod!
02.13.15 | yea i couldn't get too into the wire either. season 1 was decent, but didn't really grab me enough to make me wanna watch season 2 (which i hear is the worst one so that didn't help)
|
MuhNamesTyler
02.13.15 | Are they even as dynamic as bones? You see she is super smart and super rational but this also makes her vulnerable as well |
Cygnatti
02.13.15 | no no you're good. i'll def give it a shot, but i think i'll go through most of the other ones first before going back to it.
also i should probs add house of cards on the to-watch list as well. |
MuhNamesTyler
02.13.15 | For real tho you should check Brooklyn Nine Nine that show is pretty funny |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | @demigod! Most people have season 5 as their least favourite, though I watched that recently and it's awesome, though all of it's incredible so yeah. Season two doesn't spend as much time on the streets and looks at different areas of crime from season one more; I personally enjoyed it more than season one but I think that was because I was starting to realised just how good the show is in general. I also didn't watch it until a bit after season 1 too though; I found the season 1 finale to be disappointing because I was expecting it to end things in the same way that other shows do and was caught off guard when it didn't. But that's just part of how real the show is, things don't always happen as they should (in fact they rarely do) so I appreciate that now. Also, I can see myself watching it again and again in the future so no worries there since I'll appreciate and enjoy the first season more the next time around, I'm sure. Definitely recommend you get into season two, as someone who was a bit hesitant but has grown to love the show more than any other |

02.13.15 | @iamamanfromspace - I love The Wire, but only based on the first season thus far. Unfortunately the second season sort of lost me. I didn't care for all of the new characters and I hated how much attention was given to these newer characters that I couldn't care less about. That first season though... that's easily one of the best whole seasons of a TV show that I've ever watched. Such incredible depth and rich characters, I just loved that first season. Maybe I'll try to get through season two so I can move ahead sometime soon, it's good to hear that you think season five's pretty awesome.
All of this talk of The Wire makes me think of another great HBO show: True Detective. Have any of you guys watched that one yet? |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | yeah season two threw me off hard with all the new characters and locations, but they do that to an extent with every new season. it very much works for what it is
True Detective was awesome full-stop, one of the best things I've seen. just such a goddamn cool show, kind of reminded me of Cowboy Bebop in how cool and stylish it is while also being of a super high quality. the shows aren't at all similar in any other regard, though |
riffariffic7
02.13.15 | I still need to check out Cowboy Bebop. I've heard nothing but spectacular things about it so far, so I'm not sure what the hell's holding me back from seeing it. Time, maybe? Probably, but it's high up there on my list of must-sees. True Detective and Game of Thrones kept he hooked to the TV screen last year, just loved those shows. HBO always deliver the highest quality TV shows out there, probably the greatest TV station ever. |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | as a fan of the books it's based off Game of Thrones annoys the shit out of me, but there's no need to get into that |
riffariffic7
02.13.15 | Haha, I still have yet to read the books, so I can only imagine how much better they must be, just sucks that the developers like to change so much from the books. All throughout the last two seasons I was keeping an eye out for Coldhands and Lady Stoneheart after having not even read the books, so disappointing to see that they're not a part of the series yet. I enjoy the show for the quieter, character-driven moments, such as the opening to season four, just a scene of Tywin watching Ned Stark's sword being broke down to nothing only to be remoulded into something for his family now instead. I love how bleak and unpredictable the universe George R.R. Martin has set-up is, seeing the last two episodes of season four in IMAX was truly incredible. I definitely look forward to reading the books soon. Can't wait. |
Insurrection
02.13.15 | if youre looking for a good crime drama, Luther |

02.13.15 | Oh, another really good recent show is Fargo. I'd also like to second whoever said Battlestar Galactica, for sci-fi. Used to be my favourite alongside Bebop before I watched The Wire. |
iamamanfromspace
02.13.15 | @riff I'd be interested to see if you dig the books, I've heard people say they can't get into the style but I love it. As for the last two episodes I loved the battle at the wall but hated that last episode. They changed a couple of things that were just so important for me personally... |
