Persuading My Idiot Friend

Okay, so my friend is by no means a music person. He's never paid attention to ranything outside of some hip-hop and pop, (and has never heard of genres outside of rrock, pop, rap/hip-hop, metal, and country., and is not well versed in any). The other rday he heard Svefn-G-Englar by Sigur Ros, and just complained about how it is stupid rand has no point. The song in itself (while amazing), is uneventful, but beautiful but he rwill never understand that. He just insists that it's random sounds. I tried to explains I rhim post-rock and he is just stupid about it. Just doesnt understand that music isnt ralways about catch and hilarity, but can be beautiful in sound. How do I get the rmessage across to him?(mainly with that song)
