11.13.12 | Also not my idea to name the Cosmo&Paat remix "moombah," that's just blatantly 110 electro house. |
Havey
11.13.12 | you're the bro |

11.13.12 | Insert a typical Deviant. "You listen to shitty electronic music" statement here |

11.14.12 | If you like Dillon Francis, check out Munchi. He's essentially 110 house with a very reggaeton feel (moombahton) and he's insanely good. The remix I posted above is good, as is his remix of "Ruffneck (Full Flex)" by Skrillex |
Omaha
11.14.12 | Ooh, I will check it out, thanks man =] |

Deviant.
11.22.12 | lol edm
lol at making a list related strictly to bpm |
Omaha
11.22.12 | Why's it silly to base it on BPM, Deviant? A lot of times I search for music exclusively based on BPM, if I'm scraping a DJ set together. |
Deviant.
11.22.12 | Because a track's BPM means absolutely nothing. And why would you construct a set based solely on each track being the exact same tempo? No offense, but that would be the most mundane thing to listen/dance to |
Omaha
11.22.12 | I'm taking an electronic music class at my school. We're currently preparing DJ sets - we'll be putting on a rave for my college soon. We're playing for college students (and let's face it, the average one doesn't know much about electronic music,) so it makes the most sense to adhere to one to two BPMs. In that instance, it makes the most sense for me to look at just one BPM. =] |
Deviant.
11.22.12 | If you're taking an electronic class (what the hell does that even consist of?), the first thing you should have been told is variation. And it doesn't matter what kind of music you play, mixing it up is key |
Omaha
11.22.12 | What else would an electronic music class consist of? We learn about electronic music. Its history, how to create it and how to perform it. I'm going to aim for variation when I understand the software more, but right now we're focusing on sticking to certain BPMs.
It works really well, too, Deviant. I know it isn't what you'd do if you were in our shoes, but we just have a good time with it! |
Deviant.
11.22.12 | That's what I was wondering, if it was just theoretical or if you were all just sitting around with some old Rolands and fruity loops |
Omaha
11.22.12 | Haha, right. Well, I had to get a music production software in order to join the class in the first place. I, as well as a few others in the class, use Logic, whereas others use Fruity Loops and Ableton. We teach each other about specific elements of our software. We may focus on white noise one class, and then discuss how to get the right snare in the next. |
