Top 10 Albums - July 2012

My personal favorite albums!
10Queens of the Stone Age
Songs for the Deaf

Hard-rocking guitars. Great drumming. Nice vocals. This album would be higher
on my list, but I believe the individuals pieces of this album could have been
assembled better.
9Blind Melon
Blind Melon

All to often, when Blind Melon is mentioned, I hear "Aren't they that one hit wonder
band?" Obviously they missed the other 12 songs on the album. It's an overall
great album, but the guitars really make it something special for me.
8Muse
Origin of Symmetry

Origin of Symmetry is a great album, and strangely reminiscent of Radiohead.
Though much is borrowed, this album is overwhelming fresh and musically vibrant.
7Pearl Jam
Ten

From the beautiful "Black" to the hard-rocking "Jeremy" this album was the very
meaning of GRUNGE.
6Rise Against
The Sufferer and the Witness

For me, this album found a perfect medium between modern rock, and traditional
underground punk.
5My Bloody Valentine
Loveless

The strangest, and yet one of the most brilliant albums I've ever listened to was
MBV's Loveless. It took me awhile to "understand" the aurora of sound, but when I
did I found its brilliance.
4A Perfect Circle
Thirteenth Step

Being one of the more under appreciated bands, A Perfect Circle showed great
technicality and power in songs such as The Noose, Gravity, The Outsider, and Pet.
3Radiohead
Ok Computer

OK Computer is a technical beauty! When listening to this album, the last thing that
comes into my mind is to skip any one song.
2R.E.M.
Murmur

R.E.M.'s Murmur DEFINED alternative. This album features a perfect blend of
vocals, bass, guitar, and drums. Some how, the instruments never overpower
each other.
1The Smashing Pumpkins
Siamese Dream

Siamese Dream is my top pick. Power chords and quiet, but powerful vocals make
this album an absolute pleasure to listen to.
