11.03.14 | Not that the ranking is set in stone after 2 listens, but Creep really doesn't work as good for me as Blow Out. |
StallionMang
11.03.14 | 1 and 2 are better songs agreed, as well as maybe 5 |
KrazyKris
11.03.14 | Yeah, 1 to 6 seem like the songs that are really worth their time, everything else is rather meh and 12 is nothing more than a joke. |
ChoccyPhilly
11.03.14 | Creep is ok. Lyrics are great. I think other renditions of the son have proven to be better |
Rowan5215
11.03.14 | Stop Whispering and Thinkin' Bout You are my faves |
Judio!
11.04.14 | Creep probably wouldn't make my top 20 radiohead songs |
Snake.
11.04.14 | it's my fav from ph |
Snake.
11.04.14 | still wouldn't make my top 20 radiohead songs [2] |
StallionMang
11.04.14 | Prove Yourself and I Can't are probably better songs too, now that I think about it
The rest are just filler-ish and crappy |
Supercoolguy64
11.04.14 | havent heard this one yet. Although i will say Anyone Can Play Guitar is awesome |
ArsMoriendi
11.04.14 | 6 and 2 are the only tracks I really care about on this album.
Yeah, 1 to 6 seem like the songs that are really worth their time [2] |
thacoconut94
11.04.14 | Hail to the thief was good |
NightProwler
11.04.14 | Been too long since I heard this album in full, but Creep is awesome, always has been. And I fucking kill it drunk in Karaoke bars
... Well, at least I think so |
Artuma
11.04.14 | ""yet it is in many Radiohead best of lists"
does it really surprise you? |
ButteryBiscuitBass
11.04.14 | Hey Kris. 2 is 1 for me. x |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | @NightProwler
Drunk in a Karaoke bar? Don't know if I want to hear that. I always clamp my balls and sing Bee Gees. I think my voice is still not as high as theirs....
@Artuma
Not really surprised, just somehow expected Creep to be far better than anything else the way it is always talked about.
@Buttery
Hey there, already on tour?!
2 is in fact the only thing that deserves to be called grunge, pretty strong. Blow Out is definitely the best vocal-wise though. |
wwf
11.04.14 | I still think Creep is a really great song, though I can understand the band wanting to distance themselves from it.
It'd probably almost make my top ten radiohead songs |
Alkemest
11.04.14 | Pablo Honey is their worst album by far. Not that it's a bad album, it's just nothing that awesome. The
Bends blew it out of the water, and Radiohead was and is highly conscious of that, hence their single
from The Bends - 'My Iron Lung'. Their next two albums are some of my favorite 90s rock, and then we
know the story after Kid A.
In short, Pablo Honey is good and all, but it's just meh, and everything else the band has ever done is
way better. |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | Don't know. Right now I don't see it too far behind Hail To The Thief. |
NightProwler
11.04.14 | Kris, I am the karaoke master. If I went to Japan, they'd make me a god
And agreed on the HttT-thing, never been big on that album. But it is slightly better than Pablo |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | Not that unlikely since you can sing english lyrics without that stupid accent.
HTTH has just too much filler for and experiments gone wrong. Still some damn great moments. |
NightProwler
11.04.14 | I'm just blowing my own horn, but I love karaoke, lol
Yeah, that's my opinion on that album too. Amnesiac was great, Hail was a little too much. But In Rainbows!! Now that is an album! |
ButteryBiscuitBass
11.04.14 | I'll never tour me, Kris. I'm a shipping clerk, I'm already living my dream. |
glassg7
11.04.14 | Sputnik has this at a 2.9 overall, and it deserves better. All of Radiohead's other albums are definitely better but Pablo Honey is far from bad. If they had stuck strictly to this more traditional rock sound, they'd still be hailed as a great rock band (obviously they were destined for better things but you get my point).. Remove yourself from OK Computer and Kid A and this is a great album all the way through |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | Well, I'd have it at 2.5 or 3, so the rating fits somehow. But then again I don't consider OKC to be a masterpiece at all, so the gap isn't that big.
Pablo Honey somewhat reminds me of the Cure debut. Some great ideas and nice melodies, but produced rather weak and with too much filler material. |
Alkemest
11.04.14 | Definitely a solid 3. HTTT would be a 4 for me, The Bends a 3.5 with stuff like amnesiac in the 4.5 range. |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | Right now for me it's
PH 2.5-3
HTTH 3
OKC 3.5
Kid A 4-4.5
definitely not as good as most people would rate them. |
ButteryBiscuitBass
11.04.14 | I think I'm getting to the same, Kris. I used to think OKC was a classic from being about 21 - 25. |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | It grew on me a little, but a few years ago I listened to it, knowing not one Radiohead song consciously. With all that fuss about it I was almost disappointed at first and really didn't know what people were so impressed by.
Paranoid Android and Karma Police are awesome work, but songs like Airbag and especially The Tourist haven't much to offer in my eyes.
I already wrote it in other threads, it just seems so stale and distant at times that I feel I should rather admire than "enjoy" it. And only half of the songs sound really emotional to me, the rest is either overstatement (Exit Music) or falls flat (Airbag, SHA) |
ButteryBiscuitBass
11.04.14 | That said 'Paranoid Android' is a very, very fine song. |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | Can't argue about that, it is great. Always liked Karma Police more though |
ButteryBiscuitBass
11.04.14 | 'For a minute there' |
KrazyKris
11.04.14 | I lost myself, I lost myseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelf |
Mythodea
11.04.14 | From no7 till the end it sounds like people are talking. A strange discussion, but okay. |
