JackSparrow 08.11.12	Seriously art class is great. I took "Multimedia art" at my high school and the teacher gave out grades on a scale of how much she enjoyed you being in class. You're at OSU? My friend is so pumped to go there. I think chemistry is interesting, but its ridiculously hard. I've taken a business law elective, yeah it blows.

Funeralopolis 08.11.12	Yo Jack I am in the same boat as you having to take Calculus Business, I barley got by with tutor help in high school and i hadn't taken a math course in a year going into university. With studying managed to pull off a 15% before i dropped the course. I have to retake it as it is required for my program but I highly suggest getting a tutor for it as it is probably cheaper and more time efficient to get a tutor than take the course again.

I live in New York so I had to take the Mathematics B Regents Exam, which is notoriously hard. I passed but I don't remember any of it
Uranium 08.11.12	What sucks about our math system is that in high school the teachers give you a lecture and expect you to do the assigned in problems; yet in college, you have to read your text book and all of its sly notation to teach yourself what the teachers quickly seem to breeze over.

My AP Government & Politics teacher was hilarious and so into it that it was hard not to enjoy it. But math just sucks

FourthReich 08.11.12	3rd, i've had to take 1 calc class(i need one more) and one stats class, those were just prerequisites/ge. the econ class itself requires a very good understanding of stats, multivariable calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, real analysis, and so on.

ZilbelPing 08.11.12	I really hate Chemistry and Physics. In contrast to that, I love Biology. English is my favorite subject of all of them, though. I love reading and writing. For math, it depends. I love algebra and hated geometry. I took pre-cal this past year and it seemed easy enough, but my teacher kicked ass so it might be that. I'm taking calculus this coming year with what should be the same teacher so I should be good.

Funeralopolis 08.11.12	Major in economics requires a lot of math hell it is mostly math. Business requires quite a bit too, but unfortunately if you want a half decent job you have to do something either involving science or math so I gotta tough it out.

Considering I'm only interested in photojournalism/photography and that's really where my chief skill set is, I'm going for it. College can't help me anyway. Literally everything I know, I have taught myself. I'm not exaggerating. So, I'm just gonna take what I know and go with it. Math sucks though bro, I always hated it.

He literally told us the first day of the class that he "was terrible at math." No idea how he could ever get into chemistry in that case. Needless to say, he was the worst teacher I have ever had. I remember nothing, except for how to say Aluminum the "European way." He was fired the next year.

Just so happens that the one I like the most (economics) requires intensive math. I don't mind practical math, just the ridiculous trig functions that really do not help on a day to day basis

North0House2 08.12.12	Out of all, I think I probably hated Spanish class most. I didn't mind the actual subject. However, my teacher was bloody crazy. I remember, one day in class, she just started crying. Another day, she suddenly got really angry (even though we were all silently working on a worksheet.), slammed her book, and ran away. We didn't see her for half an hour, until we saw her running laps around the parking lot out the window. It was bizarre.

My German teacher found out she was getting laid off the next year halfway through senior year so she stopped caring and let us do whatever. I knew enough German to get by when I was in Germany for vacation so I can't complain. I've heard Spanish gets really hard at higher levels, is that true? German is pretty easy. And no way I can't handle dying animals, that's always the worst in movies

North0House2 08.12.12	"What do you photograph?" Ah, I photography nearly everything- primarily landscapes. But when I go into cities (which is rare these days.) I like to kinda capitalize on how destructive mankind is to both the environment and himself. I've recently gotten into taking photos with my lens detached from the camera body. I need to practice that in the city. Next is to build a camera using a flat computer scanner as the image capture device. So, we'll see.

legendlexicon 08.12.12	Oh and calculus isn't bad. Just remember all of your derivatives, and integral short cuts and techniques. Limits aren't that bad either. View every question as, "ok what techniques do I need to apply to this in order to get the solution". Its all very mechanical. And the trig isn't too bad. The trig gets tough in calc 2 when you start doing real integrals.
