10.28.16 | Wait for a Steam Sale before going crazy buying shit. Most of the PC gaming staples like Bethesda games, The Witcher, all of Valve's shit, and pretty much anything you'd be looking for have massive discounts during Steam's seasonal sales. |

I'd type LOL, but it'd probably be taken as sarcastic and not "I get the joke." Either way, Ages of Empires 2 could probably be run on a TI Calculator at this point (and I'd play all damn day, too).
Pick up Civ 6, which just came out to rave reviews, and will make you forget what it is to sleep.
MMOs, MOBAs and other massively multiplayer games are a thing you can do now--I used to play EVE Online all the time, and Final Fantasy XIV is incredible now (if you're into FF, that is). Defense of the Ancients 2, Overwatch, Day-Z, Planetside 2, Trackmania, Team Fortress 2...all worthy to at least try.
If you're a Bethesda fan, you'll always have the best experience playing Skyrim and Fallout on PC (plus, you can actually play Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics).
Cities: Skylines is my personal favorite, but that's because I grew up as a huge SimCity fan, and this is the best thing since #4. If simulation is your forte, PC has you covered.
Somewhere down the line, you might try running an HTC Vive for the best VR (though I might wait until the next iteration of the hardware).
More than anything though, it's all the indie Steam games that make PC gaming worth it. Hundreds of games of all different types that give some of the best gaming experiences you can have today. |
Polyethylene
10.28.16 | As I said in the description, I'm too nomadic for a desktop. A laptop with these specs will run all the games I'm interested in, at sweet fidelity and frames. I probably wouldn't fork out another two grand for a negligibly superior desktop anyway. I don't need shit to run at 120fps in 4K 3D VR or whatever the fuck
Thanks for all the great recs, especially Masochist |
anarchistfish
10.28.16 | +1 for nomadic
