05.21.12 | I know, it's actually not as heavy as they promised it would be. They also should have brought back the technicality from their older stuff. Daybreaker had the potential to be amazing. If they would have brought back the ball-busting technicality from Nightmares and progressive nature from Hollow Crown and mixed it with the melody and amazing choruses from THAN, the record would have been great. Daybreaker is just another record to throw on the pile of average metalcore. |

05.21.12 | I've listened to Daybreaker 3 or 4 times now and it's grown on me alot. It has really good flow, and it's pretty great for what it is. There's a bit of technical guitar playing but it's very melodic, they kinda dropped the dissonant technical riffs that were so prominent on HC, Ruin, and Nightmares. It's a different beast even though they're back to the heavy for the most part. The album is enjoyable right now, not sure how it will hold up yet. |
