04.30.14 | No offense to the mods or anything, but the lack of updates to the UI is pathetic in my opinion. I
can't even tell you how many of my friends were turned off by Sputnik because of its extremely
buggy, outdated interface. With that being said, I love the UI itself. I never had a problem with it
and still don't, I think the site works well and the interface very user-friendly, with only a small
learning curve when you first make an account. But there are so many obvious bugs that, as you said,
the whole site begs to be "cleaned up." It's the only site I'm actively a part of that doesn't
update and is seemingly content with being a step behind most other larger websites. Also there are
so many features I would love for Sputnik to have, and often get really annoyed that this site
doesn't have the desired features. Idk if it'll do any good but I think I might start posting my
ideas to improve Sputnik's UI in the forum thread about this.
Still love this site with all my all heart and soul though :] |

I like this site just the way it is. The last few changes to Facebook and inparticularly YOUTUBE have pissed me off, and unlike past updates, they havent grown on me at all. They make it harder to navigate, and are just fucking unnecessary. |

04.30.14 | MX is the only person who can make changes to the site. The mods are not some programming force,
they're just a few volunteers who keep in check the most egregious bullshit and try to help people out
who are having problems. Furthermore, MX has his own life and this site is only a very small part of
it. This site doesn't make him money, this site isn't his job so changes are slow to come by but when
he does have the time to work on fixing things and updating the site he works his ass off. Also, it is
difficult to deal with both the expansion of user functions and more credible staff functions on the
site. We're always trying to find an equal balance, but the Staff section is what gives this site
credibility and allows us to continue to function so sometimes that expansion can take precedent over
something on the user side of things if its something that really needs to be done for us to keep up
with our contemporaries. |
