Stereotypical 80s production is just brutal. I don't ever imagine a drummer hitting a snare drum - I think of some chump in a massive vast vast vast warehouse throwing pieces of wood at the floor.
|Depeche Mode are great.
And you can't have a best of the 80s list without Remain in Light and Disintegration.
By the way, the other day I was thinking, and it occured to me that David Bowie's Low pretty much invented the gated snare.|
|Yeah the 80s didn't have a lot to offer. Paul's Boutique is awesome though, as well as Murmur and Remain In Light|
|The drums are pretty out there on the first side of Low. The vocals are unnervingly dry too at some points, but in a good way.|
