A Brief Crack Of Light
My favourite band, always a dead cert, but it is also for me as good as some of

The Plot Against Common Sense
Didn't notice this band til this year, love this album even more than Mclusky's.
Took a few listens to sink in, but once it did it just kept growing on me. So many
Just my thing, loud punky noise-rock. Straitheists love Gaytheist!
Not strictly an album, but another new band to me in 2012 that totally blew me away.

solid Deftones album is always welcome.
The Sleep of Reason

You're Not In Hell, You're In Purgatory My Friend
Much better than their already pretty decent debut. Will try to get round to reviewing it at

Merchants Of Air
Instrumental metal that manages to be extremely cinematic throughout.
