I mean, holy shit, people slate this site for there not being enough "discussion" of music and as soon as someone asks a question that does actually require a bit of analysis everyone goes WHY R U ASKIN THIS. I think boredom for me comes from predictability, but then I like a lot of stuff where you can pretty much tell what's coming next. There are layers of boredom, though. I like a lot of music that doesn't exactly grip me but I like it on a different spectrum to stuff that can occupy my time on its own and not make me feel like I should be doing something else at the same time.
wabbit 02.21.12	I don't think boring should be automatically be paired with "not good" or "bad" William Basinski makes very very boring music but it's still really fucking awesome. but then you can have the new bon iver album which is just boring and it's awful (maybe that is a poor example because people seem to like it but fuck other opinions).

TomArnoldsArmpit 02.21.12	interesting question. admittedly, radiohead bores me to tears. that's not to say that they aren't talented, I just can't find anything in their music to get a grip on. same goes for other bands that I can't find anything to "latch" onto. it's difficult to describe. a lot of it has to do with predictability.
