| Queensrycheology (revised)
The albums of Queensryche in order of rpreference. | 12 | | Queensryche Dedicated to Chaos
This is a disgraceful mess. Truly embarrasing to see these prog-metal
pioneers stoop so low. | 11 | | Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime II
Not as terrible as I consider it, but still leaves to be desired. It feels
sloppily put together, and has little replay value. You're better off picking
your favorites rather than jamming the whole thing again. Best song: "All
the Promises" | 10 | | Queensryche Q2K
This isn't too bad, but the leads are weak. Kelly Gray is possibly the worst
guitarist the band ever hired. Best song: "When the Rain Comes" | 9 | | Queensryche Tribe
Not too inspired, but still a decent record. Best song: "Rythym of Hope" | 8 | | Queensryche American Soldier
Easily the best album after DeGarmo left and before the band's split. Still
feels watered-down, but it's worthwhile. Best song: "Unafraid" | 7 | | Queensryche Hear in the Now Frontier
The last record of the DeGarmo Era. Many despise it, but I think it's a
worthwhile listen. Best song: "Hero" | 6 | | Queensryche Promised Land
A very emotional record. It's very stripped-down when compared to it's
predecessors, but it still has great songs. Best song: "Out of Mind" | 5 | | Queensryche Queensryche EP
This is a fantastic EP. It's amazing how this band could deliver such an
astonishing debut. Best song: "Nightrider" | 4 | | Queensryche Rage for Order
This is a fantastic album, but there are two songs on it which I don't like
much. Other than that, it's essential listening for fans. Best song:
"London" | 3 | | Queensryche Empire
I'll probably get flamed for putting it above RFO, but I enjoy it slightly
more. It's definitely the last essential album by the band. Best song:
"Della Brown" | 2 | | Queensryche The Warning
It took me a while to appreciate how fantastic this album is. With blazing
riffs and high-energy performance, this just might be the band's most
underrated effort. Best song: "NM 156" | 1 | | Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime
One of the best albums ever made. Perfect from top to bottom. Ending
right where it begins, it tells a great story, has impressive lyrics and epic
musicianship. You should hear this before you die. Best song: "The
Mission" | |

07.01.13 | The two post-split records aren't included because I haven't heard them. | mandan
07.01.13 | And yes, I know a lot of people would put Rage at 2, and Empire at 4. But, this is my opinion. | mandan
07.01.13 | Also, with the exception of DtC (which sucks hard), I've heard each QR album more than once. OM:C II has quite a few boring songs that get skip-worthy, and I came to skip tracks 4 and 5 on RFO. | JamieTwort
07.01.13 | 1 > 4 > 5 > 2 > 3
Don't really care about the rest. | sonictheplumber
07.01.13 | cool | Underflow
07.02.13 | O:MC > Promised Land > Empire > Rage for Order > Self-titled Album > EP > Everything else | Friday13th
07.02.13 | Interesting "best song" choices. As long as Mindcrime is the top album you won't get hate from me. Haven't heard Promised Land or The Warning so I should probably check them out. | mandan
07.02.13 | The Warning is fantastic, don't miss it. | Ire
07.02.13 | nah | CrownOfMagnets
07.02.13 | Spreading the diseeeeeaaaaaaaseee | mandan
07.02.13 | Everybody neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeddsssssssss
But no one wants to seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee | Ire
07.02.13 | band is poo after mincrime and some rage | mandan
07.02.13 | ^Empire rules hard. | Underflow
07.02.13 | So does Promised Land. | mandan
07.02.13 | @Underflow: Agreed, though I have PL 4'd and Empire
4.5'd.
Yep, after Empire they gradually lost their touch. But
imo they didn't hit rock bottom until DtC. All opinion
though. | MaidenUFO
07.02.13 | Great list, i think nobody disagrees with the number 1....Also, i agree with the best song, "Mission" is also my favorite song from the album... | mandan
07.02.13 | ^took me a while to reach that conclusion, but DeGarmo's solo on it is simply heavenly.
And Willie prefers RFO, so he's an exception. | Titan
07.02.13 | Great ranking Danny.....certainly one that can't be argued with. Here's what mine is:
Operation: Mindcrime
Empire
The Warning
Promised Land
Rage For Order
EP
Tribe
American Soldier
Operation Mindcrime II
S/T
Hear In The Now Frontier
Frequency Unknown
Q2K
Dedicated To Chaos | SirDrumsalot
12.26.13 | Hey look at this old list! Just happened upon it. Not bad ranking!
Mine would be:
Operation: Mindcrime
Rage for Order
Promised Land
Empire
Warning
EP
Self Titled - 2013
Q2K
HITNF
Then I dont really care about the rest at all.
Promised Land is ranked a little higher for me than most cause it has a lot of personal meaning. Came out when I was turning my life around and really hit me. | mandan
12.27.13 | s/t is about even with HITNF for me, I'll have to hear both next year to decide which I like more. |
