Overlooked In 2014

Just a quick overlooked and underrated list for 2014. Most of these are metal because it's probably the only genre I go into great depth to explore.
Redescubriendo el Invierno...

Cool atmospheric black metal with a really strong folk influence. Good music to put you into a
trance-like state.
2Maveth / Embrace of Thorns
A Plague Through the Heavens

Brilliant blackened death metal with some fantastic production, interesting songwriting and
hard-hitting riffs.

Chaotic and mind-numbingly heavy death metal. A typical Dark Descent record.
4Necros Christos
Nine Graves

Fairly long EP at around 40 minutes. Some really intriguing death metal on display here.
Taman Shud

Awesome death metal, featuring crazy drums and a wide range of influences from various
death metal subgenres.
Behold the Son of Plagues

Really heavy yet melodic black metal with stellar modern-day production. Definitely for those
who struggle to get into the murkier side of black metal.
7Monument of Misanthropy
Anger Mismanagement

Cool brutal death metal.
8Basement Torture Killings
A Night of Brutal Torture

Solid grind-influenced death metal.
9We All Die (Laughing)

Some interesting dark avante-gardeish metal. With only 10 votes but a 4.2 average, this is
definitely one to check out.
10Novo Amor
Woodgate, NY

Really nice Bon Iver-esque indie folk.
