seedofnothing 05.10.12	wow this sounds really good , I just finished the first track "Eutherian", good solid song man, it flows nice into track two which I probably agree with Paper sounds really good too, i see the pace picks up a bit a there but still has a nice progressive feel to it. the melodies are prime too, decent vox too

seedofnothing 05.10.12	that last track is pretty epic, i love all the different formulas that lead up to the finale, i'm sure what you used to record but the sound is crisp yet still has a nice raw feel to it. the last track is lengthy I can see all the purpose behind, you weren't trying to just record a track you were trying push the boundaries of music and sound which I really appreciate, I give a solid 4 and this may grow on me even more, sounds like i would enjoy this laying down or relaxing as well

Wolfhorde 05.10.12	Well, done. Listened to some tracks twice. I was actually wondering if that 20 minute ending track was actually all 20 minutes music and not some hidden track thing. The vocals could be improved a bit I think but I like it. Also.. did you actually play this whole thing in one session?
CaptainDooRight 05.10.12	@ Wolfhorde - thank man. no it was not a hidden track at all, every track was recorded only once with one take, all in one session. This took about one hour to record in all. I had it clear in my mind what I wanted to do and none was written down on paper, this was all improv and on the spot from what i envisioned in my mind. although improv, meaning not written, it was planned mentally though as i mentioned earlier i meditated before i recorded this so i was in the right mindframe/mindset

Wolfhorde 05.10.12	I noticed that, I was just wondering if you really played the whole set because.. well.. kudos to you. I probably couldn't do that unless I'd do vocals and probably also only if I stayed with stuff that felt "natural". I generally have a huge respect for musicians that improvise a lot, I usually also "improvise" (especially with the rhythm section and with a didge you practically don't have another choice) but improvising stuff for an hour straight seems challenging. Especially on "melodic instruments". Also put on my Ipod.
CaptainDooRight 05.10.12	Thanks man. It's a nice technique to utilize from time to time because there are things you can only capture during an improvised moment. I tried to link the flow of the ep to my mind which I felt was the only to create something like this. Cool man I didn't know you played music. I'd to hear anything you have now or in the future. and cool thanks for storing this :] @seed- thanks, theres a few times a month when i feel really motivated and during this recording was definitely one of them. the cool thing about not writting this is in keeping anything else I do fresh, hopefully that is ;]

Wolfhorde 05.10.12	Well, if I get around to pick up some proper Audio EQ (or a proper band, which is incredibly hard to find in the backwoods of Palatinate) I'll get back to ya. I'm not even sure yet if I could use a normal vocs/guitar oriented studio mic for stuff like my cajon, frame drum or didge. Also, the quality of my instruments ranges from decent at best to pretty good. If you have more like this in the future I'd definitely also like to hear it.

Wolfhorde 05.10.12	My problem is less the figuring out than actually getting the money together to buy the proper EQ, I'll probably have to get a new sound card or something similar that can process the whole thing better and I definitely need a good mic. A nice editing program would also be good, but that's a minor thing.
CaptainDooRight 05.10.12	I understand what you're saying. For my professional gear I use Sony Acid 7 for mixing and I have a V63M condenser mic. But I have only used the condenser mic for vocals on other projects. The mic was about 60 bucks and the software mixing program was about 80 I believe
Wolfhorde 05.10.12	Well, the fortunate thing is I can get the software for free since I'm still having some connections to some people from different bands I knew. I was currently looking at some of the t.bone USB series, they're also around 80-100 and something bucks and are getting pretty good reviews, they also seem to work well with percussion despite being usually mainly used for vocs. If I'm lucky I could probably also get a new sound card quite a bit cheaper.

Well the last one wasn't me by myself, that was a jam session recorded while chilling with some of my friends, stoned and buzzed as fuck, but yeah this is 100% different style of music, think more like progressive folk with atmospheric clean sung vocals and occassional black/death vocals when the moment calls for it, it's highly progressive but certain parts have their push too. it's more serene than harsh, hope that helps :] "second track reminds me a lot of vindensang with more acoustic guitar" hey thanks for checking it Crysis, I love vindensang by the way so I appreciate that comment :] You must be referring to "Cold Iridescents", I recording every track in order as it's listed in the database and when I came to that one I felt a little spark of energy that I was feeding off of but was still deeply in my meditative zone

Wolfhorde 05.10.12	I would actually say the "harsh vocals" in the EP sound kind of similar to these "harsh vocal whispers", I mean it's not like you're going all Bolt Thrower on that shit. It kind of reminds me more of some of the harsher "whispers" in some Empyrium tracks.

And I agree with Wolfhorde, the vocals are highly reminiscent of dissonant harsh vocal whispers that add a decent atmosphere when needed from time to time. Wolfhorde 05.10.12	Well, it's not that. Just the people I know are mostly located on the east coast, especially Maryland and from there up the coastline. I also know some people from California and Arizona though, but they're not as many as on the EC. This probably also due to my uncle having lived there and me knowing some close relatives/friends of him that even helped alot with the flights over there.

Your voice is not bad either. If you can do it a little louder, you ought to try that raspy whisper thing over the heavier music you write and see how it turns out. I think it could sound pretty good.

I've got no idea why, I'm usually not a friend of female vocals or I'm increeeeedibly picky with them but I really like this band, they've also got some nice stuff with their guitars going. CaptainDooRight 05.11.12	Cool man, once I go through these I'll let you know what I like the most and I'll let you know but yeah I'm the same too, usually female vocals for me work only under certain musical backgrouds, usually slower paced music with ballade-like feels to ambiency
Wolfhorde 05.11.12	I mainly listen to acoustic stuff (or similar) with female vocals, sometimes there are also some exceptions in "harder music" but that's rather rare. I generally like them more with "mellow" music usually, can't stand female vocals in electronic music - never could, not even when I was young and people were all crazy about house and techno and whatever.

Wolfhorde 05.12.12	That sounds pretty ace, an LP of this stuff will actually fit in with the acoustic band I mentioned last above. At least I think so. They're pretty psychedelic at times. (one of the few bands that actually gets a banjo to sound something different than happy) Yeah, damn bugger was like "hey, why not study music in Sweden, it's like super expensive but who cares!", which might also be a supporting reason. On another note we're really short of good guitarists here that are actually down for sth.

Sweden probably has enough good guitarists (the dude I talked about is actually also a guitarist & drummer) Crazy thing is an even better guitarist, he once came down to be all like "and now I'm gonna show you how shit's done" and starts playing Camel riffs, unfortunately I didn't know at the time what he was playing. He's also the one paying for the scholarship. And well, since Scandinavia is basically the social and economical "haven" atm I can understand shit there is generally pretty expensive.

Hell yeah I did, it also had a a certain ironic character his dad coming down to the rehearsel room being like "I'm gonna show you how it's done!", especially since we initially thought he was kidding. I mean we knew he WAS playing guitar like 15 years ago or sth. like that. But we didn't know he could still kill it. Also, I found the EP to be quite fitting for things such as sleeping, getting lost in thoughts or taking a walk in the forest. One thing I'm wondering about, though: what are you saying at the beginning of Cold Iridescents? (and I'm probably off with this but you sound a bit annoyed)

A lot of artist don't listen to their own music but I play this to myself all the time just for enjoyment purposes which I'm glad because thats not always the case Haha no I was just being random and sporadic. Trying to break the mold of what a person would normally expect. If anything it was more sarcastic than anything. Just the opposite of being annoyed is how I actually felt at that moment
Wolfhorde 05.14.12	The crazy thing is that even after 15 years he was still better than his son who also practically played guitar half of his life. Well, I actually think it suits those kinds of circumstances more than lying around in the sun. Since I'm very metereosensetive I can't listen to music that doesn't fit my mood which is strongly influenced by weather/daytime. Yeah, I knew I was probably wrong about that. I was just trying to decipher what you were actually saying.
