Who Wants Free Music?!?!

Pick me! Pick me! Here's a band with a grand total of 1 votes on each album - by yours truly - that I strongly feel more people should know about. Their style is I guess post-rock inspired although it mostly leans towards dreamy rock and poppy type stuff, maybe even ambient at points (although I'd be talking out my arse if I claimed to know anything about it). Anyway all their music is for free at http://vestascension.bandcamp.com/releases so have at it!

Breaching the Sound

New album, just released, I'm working up a review for it now. One of my favourites of the year so far, hard 4.5.
2Vestascension
Evolutory

So basically back in 2011 they started this campaign to release a free song at the beginning of every month which is pretty cool cos fuck the music industry, right?
3Vestascension
Lifoliage

And they started as fairly good post-rock with not the best production and a bit of an awkward flow
4Vestascension
An Endless Voyage

But they could still bust out a heavy fucking jam now and then like this one
5Vestascension
Then We Are Here

And this went on until........
6 Vestascension
L'Arrivée

They became French. ha no they just ditched their heavy influences and became this sort of dream-rock gorgeously gorgeous band
7Vestascension
Wishes in Awakenings

Layers of guitar and great deep vocals and feels everywhere, man
8Vestascension
The Farewell Fixture

But did I mention that their best attribute was their ability to create one fucking solid chorus? because these melodies are on the next level
9Vestascension
Our Midnight Canvas

And then just as they were peaking and releasing fantastic tune after fantastic tune...

Until We See the Ocean

The vocalist leaves, the drummer leaves, and they die down for a whole year. They pop back up in 2012 with another beast of a beauty of a killer of a jam, with a new singer, and also featuring vocal tracks that their old singer had recorded before leaving. Pretty cool, right? A duet even though there's only one singer still in the band? Evidently they thought it was pretty cool because they promised a whole album of it, featuring every song they released in 2011 re-recorded with tracks from singer new and old. And they finally delivered said album after two years of nothing...... check it
