| Omni Or Infinity
This release confirms the death of the awesome Minus the Bear, giving birth to the bland Minus the Bear, and they will now continue to release mediocre albums. Opinions on the points raised below? | | 1 | | Minus the Bear Omni
Although not the 'sound' we came to expect from MtB, atleast the poppy songs on Omni were well written, refined and cohesive. Written to listen to as whole songs, the album served this purpose well. Tasteful instrumentation, that didn't distract from the song but rather complemented it. | | 2 | | Minus the Bear Infinity Overhead
On this record the songs are trying to maintain the poppy song edge and song experience developed in Omni, but come off as angular and messy as the instrumentation fights to lay down the foundation for the song and never complement it in return. The music goes off on too many tangents, confusing and distracting from experiencing the song.
I've seen a lot of hate for Heaven is a Ghost Town, but atleast it actually flows | |

09.05.12 | Infinity is them definitely trying to combine their old style with OMNI and I'm not sure it succeeds, but it's.. well, it's okay. | Omaha
09.05.12 | I'd probably say Omni for the same reasons as listed. |
