| Most Interesting Autobiography?
I don't know why it took me so long to read this since Marilyn Manson has been an
artist I have greatly appreciated for a long time (equally for his message and his
music) but I finally got around to reading "The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" and I
thought it was fantastic. I found out a great deal about his early life that I actually
didn't know about, though my only complaint is that it was a tad overly nihilistic and
didn't portray his intellectual side as well as his shock side. Understandably so since
that transformation didn't really occur until Mechanical Animals and even moreso with
Holy Wood because of the Columbine incident, but I feel that if he waited a few years
it would have been a more balanced book instead of a mostly cool one. Still, I feel
that even people who aren't into Manson's music can appreciate the book. I don't
really read stuff like this very often, I'm more into horror and science fiction but now
that I'm interested, what other autobiographies on musicians are interesting? | 1 | | Marilyn Manson Antichrist Superstar | 2 | | Marilyn Manson Mechanical Animals | 3 | | Marilyn Manson Holy Wood | 4 | | Marilyn Manson The Golden Age of Grotesque | 5 | | Marilyn Manson Born Villain | |

05.15.13 | If you haven't read Mötley Crue's autobiography yet, you should check it out. I'm not a huge fan of their music but it's a great book. | JoshTh
