05.23.11 | Tara was on showtime, so its cancellation is somewhat more justified (since they have better viewing data than nielsen numbers).
Arrested Development (which (i like to brag about this) I watched every week when it aired (with my mom) + tried to get everybody (who would eventually discover it on DVD when they went to college) to watch) just had shit ratings ... although FOX, to its credit, gave AD a prime time-slot + two undeserved renewals
ironically, for your examples i'm 100% sure it's american audience that is to blame, not the networks...
