What causes you to give bands a second chance? Popularity does it for me.
They bored me for some reason. I needed to hear OK Computer twice before I could actually appreciate it.
Fight Off Your Demons (The Demos)
First of all, these unreleased songs are sooooo good. First time I heard Devil and God, I was bored until I heard "YEAH!!!!". Sadl that was the only thing that really impressed me until I heard Archers. I still downloaded the album so I could try it more. I soon became obsessed with Limousine and everything else soon followed.
Peer pressure. Fucking peer pressure. Basically, it was if you didn't like this band, you were bashed on everyday. It took me until Nightmare to finally love them. Luckily I've never made this peer pressure mistake again. My friends suck when it comes to music.
|Usually I can tell if an album is awesome even if (at that moment) I can't appreciate it fully. I listen to the instrumentation and the lyricism in the vocals. 9/10 time it's the production that throws me off but I keep the album and after a few songs pop up on my iPod when it is on shuffle I get used to it enough to listen to the album coherently.|
|Usually pressure from someone I know telling me to listen to them again. |
|god forbid having to listen to an album more than once to appreciate it
..like anyone would actually do that|
|It takes me up to 5 listens to really get an album |
|yeah i usually give something a few runs and if it doesn't click i keep it and try again later if i listen to something similar that clicks with me and then go back n see if that helps in understanding other albums that hadn't clicked beforehand|
