AFI - The Art of Drowning Ranked
Time for Day 2. I'll probably do All Hallow's a little later in the day since it's just a small EP. Anyway, this album has always been one of my favorites. This album adds a bit more melody into the mix and feels a bit more accessible when compared to Black Sails. The sound it goes for is a natural progression from Black Sails and I think if you like one, you'll probably like the other. They are virtually even for me though |

Battled - I find this song so forgettable and basically unnecessary. Oh well. |
15 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Wester - Probably not a song people would expect this low. It has some sick things going for it, but its just never been my fave. |
14 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
A Winter's Tale - this song has some really pretty melodies but unfortunately is just another one I don't listen to as much which is a problem. |
13 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Catch a Hot One - I definitely really like this song, I just find myself in the mood for it a bit less than other songs. Still, really great chorus and bridge. |
12 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Dream of Waking - don't listen to this much but it's a really great song |
11 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
The Nephilim - Basically this to 1 are the reasons why I keep this at a 5. |
10 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Ever and a Day - WILL YOU BE MYYYY, BE MY BELOVED |
9 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
The Lost Souls - What an intro. Really sets the tone for this work of art. |
8 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Of Greetings and Goodbyes - That guitar in the second verse always gets me. They played this live the other night for the first time and I would kill for a video of it. |
7 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Sacrifice Theory - Some of Hunter's best work. |
6 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
6 to 8 - One of the few ballads on the album and it's a really good one. |
5 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
The Days of The Phoenix - A classic. This song contributed to AFI's success and it's easy to see why. |
4 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
A Story At Three - "I hear the morning choir sing to me, their elegy" |
3 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Smile - Possibly the most hardcore song this band has ever done and I love every raging second of it. |
2 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
The Despair Factor - the most accomplished song of the album and perhaps the pre-STS era. The melodic latter half gets me every time. |
1 | | AFI The Art of Drowning
Morningstar - As a younger kid, this was just my go to soft song. The title itself is beautiful and idk it carries some sentimental value to me. I was overjoyed when they played it live the other day. This will always be one of my favorite songs. |
