2010 In Metal
10Overkill
Ironbound

There are no huge surprises here, just track after track of first-class Thrash.
Ironbound is without any doubt their best effort since the early 90's.
(Rating- 3.5)
9Immolation
Majesty and Decay

This album delivers a healthy serving of punishing groove, complemented by
dark guitar harmonics and some brilliant moments. (Rating- 3.5)
8Alcest
Ecailles De Lune

Beautiful and triumphant melodic songwriting is what we can find in
"Ecailles De Lune". A Black Metal influenced album that manages to be also
very peaceful and captivating. (Rating- 4)
7Agalloch
Marrow Of The Spirit

There's no denial that 'Marrow Of The Spirit' is a monster of a work; a thick
and towering beast that takes quite a few listens to really sink in. Like all of
Agalloch's music, there is a great deal of atmosphere here, as well as a
forlorn and existential worldview that certainly won't be brightening one's
spirits anytime soon. (Rating- 4)
6Journal
Unlorja

Metalcore + Technical Death Metal + Mathcore + Chaotic Performance = Unlorja. (Rating- 4)
5Lich King
World Gone Dead

The best Thrash album to come out in a long time. The band shreds through
great riffs, solos, drum fills and bass work all the while as the vocalist belts
out Punk influenced rants. (Rating- 4)
4Intronaut
Valley Of Smoke

The production on this album is raw. You can hear a biting growl in the bass, and the drum sounds are really
natural and clear. The guitars and vocals can be described similarly, as they both
move from crooning ambiance to smart-bomb-precise destruction. (Rating-
4)
3Atheist
Jupiter

Awesome dynamics, classic brutal Atheist riffs, incredible musical talent.
Another great piece of work to add to their discography. (Rating- 4)
2Enslaved
Axioma Ethica Odini

"They truly are giants. May they continue to march". (Rating- 4.5)
1Amia Venera Landscape
The Long Procession

The instrumentation lunges from lightning fast and frantic Hardcore/ Metal
to atmospheric, melodic and even chilling instrumentals."Empire", "A New
Aurora", "Marasm", "Nicholas" and other six beautifully crafted and
impressive songs, create the best Metalcore debut album of all time.
(Rating- 4.5)
