wyankeif1337 07.27.11	1. nothing special, but they do what they do (deathcore) better than many. much of their popularity is due to TPoE 2. they're pretty gay (except petrucci who is cool) 3. no idea, never got into them 4. if you need to ask about this album then you're pretty gay 5. same deal as 1, except that this is their first good album. the other 2 blew.

Butkuiss 07.27.11	1. Does deathcore better than most other bands, actually has intelligent lyrics, doesn't indulge in shitty breakdown fests (as often as the others do anyway). 2. Never got the hype either, but I only ever listened to Images and Words. It's probably all the geetar wankery. 3. Hype machine? Or probably just their massive influence on music at the turn of the century. 4. Weren't they one of the first DM bands to ever have a "classic" record or some shiznit? Memory is rusty. 5. Tricky one. I think a lot of the hype surrounding them is people seeing their potential for greatness rather than any pre-existing greatness on their part. Their early work showed great flashes of potential, but they never really did much with it. I think it was mainly just people trying to back and get behind a developing band that well could deliver an impressive album to a stagnant genre (deathcore). The Discovery was pretty mad though.

ManintheBox 07.28.11	Alright I've come to the conclusion that 1 just sucks. 2 has some good songs but I don't think I could survive a whole album. 3 is just utter suck. 4 is actually pretty awesome. Like heavier cannibal corpse. 5 is alright but not amazing.
