StrangerofSorts 12.28.11	Not going to lie, I spent about 5 hours last night reading+compiling all the lore from reddit+gameFAQs. This is interactive storytelling perfection: everything in the game from item descriptions, enemies, gameplay elements, item locations to weapons mean something in the story... it's insane. Quickly becoming the best game I've ever played.

DonniSharK 12.28.11	Skyrim is terrible for many reasons... Dark Souls is an entirely different game, but it is indeed better. Because it sets out to do something and achieves it perfectly. It is NEARLY flawless - which is not something you can say about a lot of games nowadays..

MetallicOpeth 12.28.11	@application - I'm really not enjoying it. I mean it's fun but it just feels...I don't know, flat/stale. Boss battles (save one) are a total letdown, the dungeons are uninspired, the controls are a nuissance. Oh and it's not hard, like there is no challenge whatsoever, it's more just a test of patience. But that's just me, luckily I'm almost done so I can trade it in for something while it still has value.
tapitforever 12.28.11	actually skyward sword is pretty sick, and i haven't played dark souls but i've heard it's fucking awesome. also, i kind of love the name origin of dark souls according to wikipedia: "The game was initially planned to be called Dark Race, "dark" in this instance denoting "cursed" people. However, the developer soon realised that the title could be taken as a racist reference. The producer subsequently tried to title it as Dark Lord but failed to get a trademark for it so they opted for Dark Ring. However, just before the release, the developer realised that "dark ring" in British English is slang for "anus" and the title was changed to Dark Souls."

tkxxx7 12.28.11	Game is indeed amazing. I sometimes have semi-nightmares in which I'm traveling through a similar world and everything is huge and can kill me in seconds. I can't remember the last game that actually affected my dreams.

Dark Souls has the kind of clunky controls that gamers shouldn't put up with let alone legitimize by saying that it adds to the challenge and strategy or whatever. If you want difficult combat play Ninja Gaiden. Skyrim has a great setting, but it seems more concerned about tasking you with a million repetitive tasks instead of giving you anything truly memorable. Fighting dragons is just plain underwhelming. Gamers should really be asking for more innovation from this genre. "Hardcore" gamers call Call of Duty stale when this style of game hasn't changed in ages and yet they gobble them up.

PayneTiger777 12.28.11	I was a little bit disappointed in the final boss for Dark Souls. I ended up beating the guy in 3 tries. Hardest boss to me was the Ceaseless Discharge (I know there is an easy way to beat him, but I didn't want to be a pussy). The four major bosses you fight near the end are pretty intense (especially the death guy). Great game. I will have to get back to it at some point.

Despite the bugs, the excellence of Skyrim is what every videogame company should aspire to. Over a month later and I'm still completely invested in it. That shit never happens.
