06.15.11 | Bass is more important to a band. A good bass player can make a band or make a band really boring. I think bass is easy to learn but difficult to be really good at. Bass is more versatile as an instrument than a guitar. Bass for all questions if you haven't already gotten my drift. '): |

06.15.11 | Fret-less bass is boss.
For bass, it's all about the wizard not the wand. You can be great at it from a technical standpoint, but it's all about using it creatively. That being said, I like them about equally. A lot of bands don't know how to use the bass to its full advantage. |
Relinquished
06.15.11 | it all depends, but the bass is more important to a band because it's what drives the songs. I have been playing both for a while and I think guitar is more difficult, because there is a lot more you can do with it.
at the end of day, I'd have my acoustic guitar when there's no electricity

06.15.11 | Both are fun, but I feel more creative when I'm trying to write some riffs on guitar than I do on bass. |
eternium
06.15.11 | Both can be incredibly useful, incredibly technical or simple, incredibly essential depending on the sound, and I play both. |

08.30.11 | guitar, bass, guitar, guitar
bass is cool, bro |
Aids
08.30.11 | 1) i dont think either is 'better' they're different
2) honestly I think the bass is more important in a band. the bass/drums make or break most rock/indie bands
3) guitar
4) guitar is obviously more difficult, but that's not to say you can't be insanely technical and shred on bass because of course you can. but overall the "best" guitar players are more talented than the "best" bass players in my opinion |
