Woohoo I'm 16

I turn 16 today! :D In honor of this momentous occasion, here are my top 20 all-time favorite albums ranked. Ranking was difficult, so it might not be entirely accurate. Also, there's a lot of albums I've been meaning to hear that just may appear on this list one day, so this might change in a not-so-long amount of time. But as of now, on my 16th birthday, here they are. My all-time favorites. :)
20Iron Maiden
Piece of Mind

The album that let me know how fucking awesome of a genre metal is.
The Eminem Show

See 13. Also, the album that let me know Eminem is one of the greats.
Kid A

The album that let me know it is indeed possible for calculated bleeps and bloops to sound just as visceral and affecting as a sloppy, emotional guitar melody on a classic emo record. In other words, technology can be human, too.
We Are the Romans

The album that let me know there are indeed metalcore albums that rival the greatness of classic straight-up metal albums.
The Shape of Punk To Come

The album that let me know the sounds of a revolution can be just as awesome by themselves, without being under the 'revolutionary' label.
15Explosions in the Sky
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place

The album that lets me know you can say so much without really saying anything. (Literally, as opposed to 5).
OK Computer

The album that let me know that there is indeed such thing as a perfect album.
The Marshall Mathers LP

The album that let me know how censorship only helps to kill art, and how stupid and hypocritical suburban parents (such as mine) can be sometimes.

The album that lets me know of the sad state this world seems to be in, and that I should be eager to help fix it. Also, the album that lets me know that melody can still be fucking brutal.
11The National

The album that lets me know everything is gonna be okay.
10The Dillinger Escape Plan
Option Paralysis

The album that lets me know that after a long day of monotony, identical to all the others, a little insanity can be quite soothing.
9The Mars Volta
De-loused in the Comatorium

The album that lets me know there are certain escapes out there unlike any other, and how refreshing they are from the rest of the world (this album being one of them).
8Brand New
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me

The album that lets me know I'm human, and even though I fuck up a lot, that's no reason to not keep on keepin' on.
7The National

The album that lets me know, me, one of the most nostalgic, stuck-in-the-past people I know, that growing up is a natural part of life, and will be just fine.
6Circle Takes the Square
As the Roots Undo

The album that lets me know that anger, despair, and frustration can be just as artfully expressed as any other emotion. (This applies for 4, too.)
5Neutral Milk Hotel
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea

The album that lets me know you can say so much without ever really saying anything.
Jane Doe

The album that lets me know how lucky I am to have never experienced a break-up as bad as the one that inspired this album (and never will, either ;))
3Between the Buried and Me

The album that lets me know that in spite of all the shit, the world is still a beautiful place.
2 Godspeed You! Black Emperor

The album that lets me know one day, I will die. But it's okay.
1At the Drive-In
Relationship of Command

The album that lets me know I'm alive.
